Bandit - blue heeler mix adoption colorado 4

Hi, My name is Bandit!

Bandit - blue heeler mix adoption colorado 4Bandit is a super smart 12 month old Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) x German Shorthaired Pointer mix puppy. He is very healthy and has been fixed, vaccinated and microchipped. Bandit is house trained and good with children older than 10. He is good with other dogs.

Bandit likes to herd people. He is such a delightful, happy and spirited dog. He has energy to spare, so really needs owners that are active and can give him the exercise and stimulation he needs.

His owners love him so much. Unfortunately, their other dog (an older rescue dog) has not been able to accept Bandit. This is causing a lot of stress in the home, and makes finding a new home for Bandit essential.

Bandit would enjoy living on an acreage or farm where he could try out his herding and farm-hand skills. As long has his owners have a securely fenced back yard for him to play in, and lots of time and energy to give him the playtime and exercise he thrives on, he will shine in his new home.

He would be good with another dog, preferably a female that is not an “Alpha”.

Please offer Bandit the loving home he needs and deserves today. He can’t wait to melt your heart and show you what unconditional love is all about.

Personality

Bandit is a smart dog and responds well to training. He requires a good amount of exercise otherwise he gets bored and frisky. He loves belly rubs and can be a silly, goofy puppy! He seems to enjoy companionship and does great living with another dog. He is a bit mouthy and nippy and would be best with kids who can handle this. My kids are 7 and 9 and are able to manage him.

Food and Diet

Bandit is currently on Other

Bandit eats 2 cups of food two times a day (6:00am/6:00pm). He is currently eating Prescription Diet z/d skin and food sensitivities; we bought it from our vet. He had some intestinal issues when we got him and this food has been added to help him get better. Bandit also gets a hard boiled egg at both meals.

Reason For Rehoming

Unfortunately the puppy has created a lot of stress in our home. Adding to our family has upset our older male dog which has led to both dogs marking territory throughout our house. Our older dog is a rescue and has his own set of special “issues” which the addition of the puppy has exacerbated.
