Meet Gunner, Blue Lacy Dog For Adoption in Largo Florida

Looking for a Blue Lacy dog for adoption in Florida? Gunner is the dog you have been looking for! This healthy 5 year old is fixed, up to date on shots, well trained and ready to love. Gunner is located in Largo, Florida, where he lives with his owners.

Gunner is very much loved, and his owners are very sad to have to make the decision to find him a loving new home.  Their reason for rehoming Gunner is that they are not able to give him the time, attention, exercise and stimulating play time that he needs and deserves. They both work long hours at jobs that often take them away from home.

Lacy dogs are a very special breed, developed in Texas as herding and hunting dogs. They are tough, athletic, highly intelligent and dedicated. Lacys do best when they have a job to do, whether it’s herding livestock or tracking wild boars – or following their owner around and helping with chores.

Gunner is no exception, and he is ideally looking for a home with owners who are active and enjoy getting out and doing stuff. He is good with other dogs, and is patient and loving with children. He has not been around cats, so it would be best for him to be placed in a cat-free home.

If you are already a Lacy fancier, or are interested in adopting an incredibly handsome dog with a blue-grey coat, human-like intelligence, and a sensible, no-nonsense personality, Gunner is waiting to meet you.

Please offer Gunner his forever home today.

There is a $150 adoption/rehoming fee. Supplies and veterinary records will be included.

Gunner’s Personality

He’s a very very good boy
He’s independent which is funny but he is but still love you.
He’s very smart and understands so much and can always learn more
He’s well behaved, he doesn’t have to be on a leash when we go hike and won’t leave you behind. Always looking out for you.
He is sweet

Gunner’s Current Home Environment

He was an inside dog for 4 years and this last year we bought a house with a big yard so he got to play and do whatever. He’s loves being outside but also inside he’s still very well behaved inside. When we are in the yard tinkering he hops up on the trailer and stays for how ever long we are out there. Always stays never hops off to run off.

Gunner’s Current Family:

It is just my boyfriend and i, we love hiking, camping, off roading, when we have the time Gunner is always going with us. We had a pit Mastiff that passed away 2 years ago on 4th of July he was 13 and lived a great life. Gunner loved him and learned a lot from him.

Gunner’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

He loves exploring! Outdoors and he loves the beach!!! He gets so excited and know exactly when we are going to one of those places to either camp or hit the beach. He loves the Purina pro plan chicken. Lamb not so much. He is weird about his food but would never bite you. I have taught him since a young age I can grab his food, put my hand over it ECT when he’s eating. He may side eye or attempt to growl but I say no and he’s fine. We leave his food out for him all the time he eats as he likes, doesn’t over eat.

Cute Gunner Story:

He’s such a funny dog, hard to pick just one. But when we had buster the other dog he always cuddled with him. They never slept apart and he always had to lay his head on him, when he passed we burried him out at Citrus and we go visit him from time to time. He knows where Buster is and always goes and just lays down where we burried him. He’s a sweet heart.

Why is Gunner Being Rehomed?

Unfortunately, I am traveling a lot more for my work and I am also a competitive body builder so I am gone from 5am to 9pm these days. I just don’t have time for him that he needs to get out and go play. He deserves a loving family that let’s him stay inside and has the time to give him attention. It is with a heavy heart but I also believe he deserves the best life and it’s not fair to him now.

Gunner’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

A household that has the time and patience to love him and understand he is kinda a lone wolf but loves very deeply. A household that can take him out on walks and places to run free and explore. He loves hiking or walking the trails!!
