Boxer Mix and Yorkshire Terrier For Adoption 4

This delightfully odd couple of doggies have found their forever home! We are happy to announce that Boi and Divot found a home together with a lovely retired couple. They will have 24/7 companionship, care and attention in a very loving home with a nice, big fenced yard.

Here is how our rehoming team presented Divot and Boi to attract their new family:

Have you been looking for the perfect pair of canine friends to add love, joy, laughter and companionship to your home and family? Boi and his little buddy Divot are a pair of pooches you should definitely consider!

Boi is the big guy. He’s a beautiful golden colored Boxer mix with the biggest heart! He’s full of love for everyone in the family, and considers himself the family protector. He can be a big goofball at times, but mostly is just plain calm, gentle and very loving.

Divot is the little guy. He’s a purebred Yorkie, but not your typical yappy little dog. Divot is very sensible. He loves Boi  and the children in the home, and really has a big dog personality, despite the small size.

Together, Boi and Divot make a wonderful duo of dogs. They may seem like chalk and cheese,  but they go together like peanut butter and jam.

These sweet boys are both neutered, up to date on shots, housebroken and very well behaved. They are 10 years old and have been together since they were puppies.

Their family has had a very difficult time making the decision to find them a good home. They love the boys dearly, but realize that with their growing family, the dogs are just not getting the attention, exercise and affection they need and deserve. The family wants a better life for Boi and Divot, with owners who will cherish them and give them everything they need and deserve in life.

More About Boi (Boy)/Divot!

Boi: Tan Boxer Mix, 10 years old, 55 Pounds
Divot: Silver Yorkshire Terrier, 10 years old, 6 pounds

Boi is genuinely full of love, he is gentle when the situation requires it, he is always happily excited about everything, he is a guardian for our son and Divot, but not in an aggressive way, and he bounces like a goofy, sweet fur ball when he thinks he’s going for a car ride.
Divot is very quiet (not yappy like most little dogs), he thinks he’s a big dog, he loves to snuggle and will lay with you for hours, completely content. He is easy to travel with and easy to care for.

Boi(Boy)/Divot’s Personality

Boi is genuinely full of love, he is gentle when the situation requires it, he is always happily excited about everything, he is a guardian for our son and Divot, but not in an aggressive way, and he bounces like a goofy, sweet fur ball when he thinks he’s going for a car ride.

Boi(Boy)/Divot’s Current Home Environment

We have a pretty steady routine every day, now that we have kids. We have to get things done each day at the same time (naps, feedings, etc), so we keep a pretty tight schedule. Our nanny is afraid of dogs, so they have to be crated while she’s here 3 days a week. The rest of the time, the dogs roam free downstairs, go out at regular intervals and eat at the same time, but dont often get to go to the park or for long walks like they used to pre-baby.

Boi(Boy)/Divot’s Current Family:

We have a toddler now and a 2nd baby coming in June, leaving us with 2 kids under 2! I work from home and my husband has his own business so he’s in and out all week. Boi was originally my dog and Divot was my husbands. When we got married, they became brothers and, over time, best friends (it took some time!). We have had them both nearly their entire lives. My husband helped deliver Divot when he was born and I adopted Boi when he was 1 year old.

Boi(Boy)/Divot’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Boi: Loves nylabones and will eat pretty much anything you give him as a treat, including carrot sticks! Without a doubt, his favorite activity is running around outside.

Divot: Balls! He fetches golf balls, but loves any kind of balls and most stuffed toys. He will also eat just about anything (but not carrot sticks…). At this point, I think Divots favorite thing to do is sunbathing.

Why is Boi(Boy)/Divot Being Rehomed?

The dogs are not getting the care that need and deserve. They haven’t had a proper walk in 20 months. All day long, we’re already so preoccupied with our business and taking care of our 1 year old, that they just get the bare minimum – food, water, and being let out into the backyard periodically to relieve themselves. But, mostly, theyre on their own all day long, because we don’t have time to give them any attention. And, as I stated, we have baby #2 coming in a couple of months and I’m sure their plight definitely won’t get better with the new addition. We’ve had the dogs for so long and it breaks our hearts to have to rehome them, but for their own sakes, I think it’s the best thing for them to go to a new home where, once they get used to them, they’ll be much happier.

Boi(Boy)/Divot’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Highest priority is a family with time to give them love and attention. Kids or no kids, doesn’t matter to me, nor to them. I think they would be happiest in a home with a fenced in yard where they could run when they want, but also lay around and sunbathe when they dont. They are both pretty calm dogs and don’t need much. Just someone to play with them here and there, pet them, be nice to them, and snuggle with them.

Additional Comments:

I would love to be able to keep up with how they’re doing if the new family is ok with that. They’re like our first loves.
