Copper has found his forever home! This sweet boy is now the cherished companion of Debbie and her husband, a pair of empty nesters who had been missing the pitter patter of paws since the passing of their beloved dog. Copper is now living with his new Mom and Dad on their ranch in rural Colorado, and we must say, he is “living the life”! We couldn’t have asked for a better home for this sweet and sensitive boy, and are so happy to have been able to help him find it.

Here is how our Colorado Dog Rehoming Team presented Copper to attract his new family:

Hi, My name is Copper!

I am a gorgeous Golden Retriever / German Shepherd mix (Golden Shepherd) Dog. I am 2.5 years and weigh 40-50 lbs. I live in Westminster, Colorado, near Denver.

I am an absolute love. I am about the most devoted dog you will ever meet. Whomever coined the phrase “Dogs are man’s best friend” had to have been thinking of me. I am so adorable. I am almost like a cute golden bear. I have perky ears, and a plush gold coat. I have deep brown eyes and the most expressive face.

My owners love me so much. Unfortunately, with so many demands on their time, they simply cannot provide me with the attention and exercise I need and very much deserve. They have a small child and another on the way, and busy careers as well.

My ideal home would be as an only pet with people who spend a good deal of time at home, and like to get out and be active. Active seniors or work from home people would be ideal.

I have a tendency to be a little nervous and submissive around chaos, so a home with small children or lots of social visits would not be ideal for me. I am best suited to a quiet home with a solid routine.

My owners would love to keep in touch with me in my new home, so hopefully that would be OK with you.

If you are looking for the best dog ever, please offer me a loving, forever home today. I can’t wait to meet you.

Love and Licks,

Cooper

Copper’s Personality

He wants to be loved and love on you all the time. He is willing to go outside with you and be adventurous. He loves to be by your side and be your best friend.

Copper’s Current Home Environment

We have two kids under the age of 2. It is very loud and high energy. We have a small yard with an older dog.

Copper’s Current Family:

We have two children ages 1 month and 16 months. Both adults are home during the day.

Copper’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Anything he can chew and is non-destructible. He likes to go on walks and play in the backyard. He likes any food.

Cute Copper Story:

Copper and our oldest son like to play hide and seek. Our son will go and hide and then call Copper. Copper will try to find him and once he does, he gives him lots of kisses.

Why is Copper Being Rehomed?

With two children under the age of two, our family is really busy keeping up with the demands of children. Copper, who needs attention and an outlet to get his energy out, is often not prioritized. He thrives from exercise daily, which he is not getting currently to the extent that he needs.

Copper’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

We are looking for a family who does not have any other pets and will give Copper the love, attention, and exercise he needs. He will do great with a family who has children who would play with him. He would not do well in an environment where is alone all day. He needs a big yard.

Additional Comments:

We want new owners to promise that if they cannot take care of Copper that they can contact us and we will find him a new home.
