Meet Mohawk, Grey Tabby Tuxedo Cat For Adoption in Denver CO

A handsome gray and white tuxedo tabby cat for adoption in Denver, Mohawk is a very special cat looking for a very special home. He weighs 21 pounds (yes, 21 pounds) and is in good health. Mohawk is litter trained and well behaved.

Mohawk was found as a kitten in a terrible state. He was starving and malnourished. His owner has done everything she can to make him feel safe, loved and well cared for.

As a result of his experience of starvation, Mohawk is obsessed with food. He is always hungry and wanting more. He is overweight and is supposed to be following a calorie reduced diet, but he keeps stealing food from the other cats in the home. He gets anxious when he is hungry.

Mohawk needs a home where he is the only pet, with an owner who has lots of time to spend with him, and patience with his appetite and obsession with food.

He is a lovely boy – cuddly and playful. He needs the right home, with owners who will love him unconditionally. Mohawk will be rehomed with supplies and vet records. Please offer him a loving home today.

There is a $40 adoption/rehoming fee. Supplies and veterinary records will be included.

Mohawk’s Personality

He is honestly a total sweetheart who loves his owner and generally loves people. He loves to cuddle and sleep right next to you. He loves strings and chasing straws around. He needs to be in a single cat household with someone that has more time to devote to his needs.

I just want him to go to a good home–he deserves the best and this is not an easy decision to re-home him. I want him to have a happy and healthy life, and despite all my efforts, that just isn’t working out here.

Why is Mohawk Being Rehomed?

It has just become too much, especially with another cat in the household. Mohawk will attack and intimidate the other cat, especially when she is eating, and has continual behavior issues because I do not have the time and financial means to be able to properly address his needs. I have tried many things over the years and ultimately, he needs 1. to be the only cat in the household and 2. someone with more time, dedication, and possibly money to devote to his specific care. He also has been gaining weight despite being on a diet because he will intimidate the other cat and eat her food.
