Meet Dorothy and Blackie!

This cute pair of slighty older kitties have found their forever home with Debbie and Larry, a semi-retired couple in Sandwich, IL. The couple are absolute animal lovers, and we have no doubt that the girls will be spoiled rotten.

Here is how our rehoming team presented Dorothy and Blackie to attract their new home:

White cat and black cat for adoption in illinois

If ever there were two cats purrfectly matched to each other, it’s Dorothy and Blackie. They are the Yin to each other’s Yang. Dorothy is pure white, with one blue and one gold eye. She is the ultimate lap cat. As beautiful inside as she is outside. Blackie is the color of black velvet, with a soft, silky coat to match. She is also very loving and a beautiful girl. Black is more playful, while Dorothy is more of the cuddle bunny type (probably because she looks a bit like a bunny!)

Both cats are a little older at 12 and 11 years, but very healthy. Cats can live to be 20 or older, so these sweet girls have a lot of love and companionship yet to offer.

Dorothy and Black are being rehomed by their owner, who loves them both very much. She is devastated to have to make this very difficult decision to find the girls a new home, but her circumstances have changed dramatically, and she simply cannot give the girls the time, love, care and attention they both need and deserve. Long work hours and lots of travel have made things very difficult for the kitties.

The perfect home for Dorothy and Blackie will be a quiet one where there are no other pets – or a very cat-friendly dog. They are OK spending some time on their own during the day, but please come home and spend time with them after work and on the weekends.

These girls are very clean, very well behaved and a joy to own. Please offer them the home they deserve. They are sure to leave tiny black and white paw prints on your heart.
