Trip is looking for a special home with quiet seniors who can give him lots of love and a strong routine. Trip had a terrible accident as a puppy in which he lost one of his front legs. This amputation has not held him back, with the exception of little dog PTSD, As a result, he can be anxious at times and does not enjoy a lot of activity and coming and going in his home.

His ideal home will be one where he knows what to expect most days so that he will feel safe, happy and at ease. He loves spending time with his humans, and is happy hanging out with you.

Trip is such a good-natured dog. He deserves a home where he can love and be loved, where he can feel calm and happy. If you have room in your heart and home for this lovable black Lab mix, please offer Trip a loving home today.

Trip’s Personality

He’s loving. He’s incredibly sweet. He’s always up for a walk or exercise. He’s a great guard dog in how vocal he is (though if you actually had someone enter your house he’d be hiding behind you since he’d never hurt a flea.) he’s always up for loves and cuddles.

Yes Trip has high-anxiety due to having a leg amputated when he was a puppy while still in the animal shelter. He isn’t destructive but he is vocal when meeting new people and is constantly moving.

Trip’s Current Home Environment

It’s hectic. My husband and I work full time and I have two kids under 5. We do our best to give him exercise but we don’t always succeed. He also has a difficult time getting around on anything but carpet due to his missing leg so anywhere with tile has a rug on it in our house.

Trip’s Current Family:

I have two kids under five and my husband and I have been together for 6 years. We are active and noisy most days which is stressful for Trip.

Trip’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Any ball that he can play fetch with. Anything someone will play tug-of-war with.

Cute Trip Story:

Anytime I leave the room and the baby is on the play mat, Trip will walk over and lay down next to her until I come back in the room. Even if I’m still within eyesight.

Why is Trip Being Rehomed?

Our home is too much for Trip. He needs somewhere that’s focused on him and his needs. He also needs a carpeted home to build his confidence on his remaining legs and someone to walk him every night. My husband also doesn’t allow him on the furniture and I know he’d love to be able to snuggle on the couch with someone. We’re just too loud and hectic and it makes his anxiety flare up. I’d love to be the right home for him but we aren’t.

Trip’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Someone retired or who works from home. Carpeted house without stairs since he can go up them but not down them. Someone with time to spend with him and exercise him daily. Someone who understands his anxiety gets the better of him many days but that his still a good, sweet boy that just wants to be loved.

Additional Comments:

He has to go to the right home. Please be aware of his needs.
