Here is how our Virginia pet rehoming team presented Laney to attract her new owners:

Hi, My name is Laney!

Laney purebred bloodhound for adoption apex north carolina

Laney is quite the dog! This stunning female Bloodhound is just a year and a half old, and still a puppy at heart. She already weighs 85 pounds and is a great big leaping bundle of love and sloppy kisses.

Laney is very healthy. She is spayed, up to date on her shots, micro-chipped, house trained and crate trained.

Laney was rehomed into a family who had hoped to be her forever home. Because she wants to be indoors most of the time, they realize that they are just not the right fit for her. Laney needs to be in a home with owners who are home most of the time, and who will allow her to spend her time with them indoors as well as outdoors.

She is a young dog with tons of energy, but her exuberance is becoming less of an issue with the consistent behavior modification she has been receiving in her foster home. Laney is well on her way to being the best dog ever, and should make a wonderful addition to the right home.

She is a very special girl, and in the right home she will shine. Laney will be rehomed with all supplies, including a supply of heartworm preventative, a very large crate, food, bed and more.

Please offer Laney the home she needs and very much deserves today. She can’t wait to wow you with wiggles, and lick her way into your heart!

Personality

SWEET. Incredibly loving and wants as much affection from her owners as possible. Does not know her size. Very high energy and post run, still is ready to go. Loves to play with balls and toys. Very excitable. Friendly with dogs and children – honestly the dog does not have a mean bone in her body that we have noticed. Will jump if overly excited or someone new enters the home.

Very food motivated and is challenging for our toddler to eat without Laney getting into her food. Cannot get close enough to people – just wants to be loved. She knows basic controls and is housebroken. She walks on a leash however is very powerful and can pull, especially if she catches a scent or sees something to play with.

Food and Diet

Laney is currently on Other

Purina Pro Plan for Large Dogs

She gets 2.5 cups in the am and 2.5 cups in the pm. She loves Natural Balance Dog Food rolls as we use as we break apart and use as training treats for her. Also she loves cheese, eggs and whipped cream.

Reason For Rehoming

Laney is 1.5 years old (11/8/2015 birthday) and is a full bred Bloodhound. She is a beautiful dog that is as sweet as sugar and only wants to be loved. She however is incredible exhausting and unaware of her own strength. She is house trained and knows basic commands.

She does require to remain in a crate when home alone as she gets bored and is destructive. She is gentle with our 2 year old daughter, except around steps as she does not realize her size, gets excited and can knock her over (or her pregnant mom while carrying toddler down stairs) or whip her with her tail.

A perfect home for Laney would be one where she has another dog to keep her company or an owner who works from home. She does well in the crate during work hours however we hate to crate our dogs and want them to have free range of the house without destruction. Also a fenced in backyard is a must due to her breed – if she catches a scent she is gone.

Laney is microchipped and fully vaccinated. She has been spayed and has no medical issues.

We have tried dog daycare, a personal trainer, vibrate collar training etc however still has some major excitement issues that are not fitting for our family setting/safety. She would never intentional hurt a human, child, dog, or a fly for that matter but is big, easily excitable and stubborn.

Please consider Laney for your forever pet. She deserves a home where someone can spoil her with the love and energy she deserves.
