Lexi Marie has found her forever family.

Hi, My name is Lexi Marie!

I am such a cute puppy! I am 5 months and weigh 20 lbs. I live in Mesa, Arizona. A neat combination of Pitbull and Chihuahua (yes, I too wonder how that happened!) I look just like a tiny Pitbull. I am just 5 months old and very sweet and well behaved. I get along very well with dogs and cats, adults and strangers. I have no experience with children, but would probably love them too, so long as they are respectful of me.

I am very healthy and up to date on my vaccinations. I am not yet spayed. I have been house broken and crate trained.

My owner loved me to bits, but because of landlord restrictions, she was forced to rehome me – even though I am a Miniature Pitbull who would not harm a fly. I was placed in a foster home, and I am now looking for a loving, forever home with people who will cherish me.

My idea home will be with homeowners who have a big, securely fenced yard, and lots of time to spend with me. I am still a puppy with lots of energy. I need play time, exercise and attention.

If you are looking for an adorable puppy to add immeasureable love, joy, laughter and companionship to your home, please offer me the loving home I need and very much deserve today!

Lexi Marie’s Personality

1) She will sit patiently on your lap as you drive your car.
2) She is scrappy in that she seems to jockey for political position in my pack of much larger dogs (my other dogs ignore her or look at her with amusement)
3) She is very affectionate and maybe a little possessive. She loves to cuddle and be held.
4) She is ‘almost’ potty trained. She follows the lead of my other dogs and waits to go outside, with an occasional accident.
5) She will shadow you and not run away.

Lexi Marie’s Current Home Environment

Lexi grew up in an apartment, but her owner recently moved and the new complex that did not want ANY pit bull mix, even a miniature, so she gave her to me to rehome. Her original owner was in the process of potty training her and since she’s been with me she has ALMOST got it by watching my dogs. I have 4 other big dogs: Molly a blue nosed pit bull, Maya and Nala, Molly’s daughters mixed with Boxer/Akita/Collie and Bernie, Molly’s son. Their weights are 65, 40, 40, and 80 lbs respectively to Lexi’s 20.

Lexi Marie’s Current Family:

I live alone, but my neice, Asha, lives nearby and she shares pet care for the dogs – and cats. Between us we have 10 cats.

Lexi Marie’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Her favorite toys include a stuffed monkey and a stuffed centipede. She is fed Blue Diamond and I believe her favorite flavor is beef. She loves walks, chewing on bones, playing with other dogs. She seems to think my dog Maya is her mother.

Cute Lexi Marie Story:

Lexi thinks Maya is her mother, and they play together and sleep together often. A few months ago, I accidentally tripped and fell on Maya while she and her sister Nala were chasing a cat through the house and broke Maya’s leg. So for 8 weeks, Maya had to wear a splint and was pampered at daycare and on twice weekly vet trips. I would bring Maya over to play with Lexi and on one ocassion and with only an hour’s absence, the two of them had pulled Maya’s spint off, necessitating a quick trip back to the veterinarian. (Maya healed beautifully btw — the bone in one leg is indistinguishable from the other)

Why is Lexi Marie Being Rehomed?

Lexi’s original owner just moved apartments and the complex doesn’t allow pit bull mixes, even miniatures.
I have a large back yard, but I live alone and get home about 7 pm, so the dogs don’t get enough human company. I modified my pool house into a large dog house during the day. My neighbor works out of his home and my dogs bark at him while he loads or unloads his work van.
I had 3 dogs remaining after adopting out pups, but then Bernie’s owner contracted cancer and could no longer keep him. I agreed to board him for free until her treatment was complete, but its been 3 months and they have lost contact with me, so it seems unlikely that they will want him back. With Bernie and now Lexi, the number of dogs at my house has gone up to 5 and I don’t feel I am giving them each enough attention.

Lexi Marie’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

I want someone who wants a smaller dog and who can be home more often to provide the attention that the dog deserves. Lexi would be a good companion for an older person and would be good with children as well.

Additional Comments:

I would like to extend the same offer for Lexi that we had done for Bernie. If you need her boarded, let me know and we could possibly keep her temporarily. If you for some reason could no longer keep her, let me know and I would help you find a place for her. Also in case of emergency, I could assist if expenses exceeded your ability to provide veterinarian care.
