Looking for an incredibly sweet family dog? With a name like Sugar, then don’t come any sweeter than this gorgeous girl. Sugar is a Lab mix with a heart of gold. She is such a devoted, affectionate, loyal and smart girl. She is just 5 years young and very healthy. Suger has been spayed and is up to date on her vaccinations. She has a clean bill of health and all vet records will be provided to her new owners.

Sugar is a nice mix of Labrador Retriever and Pitbull. She is calm and loves children. She gets along very well with cats, and with most dogs. She has been a cherished member of her family since she was a puppy. She is obedient and well behaved, perfectly house broken, and very loving.

Sugar’s owner is devastated to have to find her a new home. Unfortunately, in the past year, there have been tensions between her and another female dog in the home that have resulted in fighting. They have tried everything to resolve this problem to no avail, and unfortunately they need to be in separate homes.

The owners are looking for a wonderful family to invite Sugar into their lives. She is such a good dog with so much love to offer. Her ideal home will be with a family with some great older kids for Sugar to play with. She would prefer a nice, securely fence back yard to play in. Cats are AOK, but it would be best if there are no other dogs in the home. Sugar would love a family who have lots of time for her. She loves to go for walks, swimming and playing fetch with her beloved ball in the back yard.

If you would like to offer Sugar the home she needs and deserves, please fill out our online meeting request form below. Once received, her owner will contact you to chat and arrange a mutually convenient time to meet.

Sugar’s Personality

a sweetheart

Sugar’s Current Home Environment

its decent. not the biggest of places so we do walk her a lot. there is currently 2 other dogs there and a cat. we also have a 16 year old kid. they are rarely alone and are open to go in and out from house. we love animals and try to give them the best and give them the best life they can have.

Sugar’s Current Family:

i live with my wife of 3 years (but have been with her high school), my little brother lives with me at the moment as I am helping my mom out with him and that is basically it. small family but we all love animals. we love to spend time with them, we plan vacations and activities always around them so they either come with us or they are well taken care of, they are my kids so i want the

Sugar’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

she loves a specific type of ball called a JW Bad dog ball, and if she does get adopted, i will personally buy her 3 so she can be very happy with it. she loves to chew that thing until the squeaker is done and also loves to play catch with it. she likes when you start throwing the ball soft and then faster as she gets more exited.

she also loves to play with the water hose and chase the water as you spray it or bite the water. she is definitely a water lover

of course she loves chew bones and treats but we try to limit those to a minimum.

we feed her grain free from Hill’s Ideal Balance which is a grain free dog food with natural salmon & potato recipe. she eats 1.5 cups 2x a day.

Cute Sugar Story:

there is so many, she is just super sweet.

one is that when we first got her i was a little worried because i always have had a problem in my child hood life with female dogs not really swaying towards me for attention. on the very first drive home she was sound asleep on a blanket and i was carrying her while my wife drove. i mentioned to my wife ” i sure hope she likes me” and as soon as i said that, she woke up, stared at me for a few seconds & then licked my nose. it was the sweetest thing ever and since then, just been an amazing dog, which makes it even that much harder to do this.

Why is Sugar Being Rehomed?

like i mentioned before, we have another 2 dogs. a boxer mastiff mix girl who is 8 and a boxer who is 1.5. she grew up with my 8 year old girl sine she was a baby and have always gotten along, but in the past year she has been getting more and more agressive towards her. it started with food, then she got protective of my wife and if i ever play fight with her or anything like that, she would immediately turn to look at my 8 year old dog as if she was doing something. keep in mind this WHOLE time sugar has NEVER had an issue with our cat and my young boxer.

they got in a pretty big fight about 9 months ago which the 8 year old boxer needed stitches and after that we tried to keep them separate and i got a trainer to see if we can fix the behavior. after the first one didnt work we got another one which was a behavior expert and also didnt work. they got in another fight about 5 months ago and after that one, we decided to have to keep them separate as to this point they cant even see each other. none of the trainers know why as most told me, sometimes some dogs just dont get along. we have been keeping them separate for a few months now and i just couldnt take having her separate in the smaller house we have, she deserved to have her own house, roam around be free and get love 100% of the time. not be in a different room or outside when she can see others inside. the only reason why we believe she will do better rehoming is because she does like to be byherself more. and the other two like the company more of each other. it hurts pretty bad but i think this way it will make all of them happy.

Sugar’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

i think she deserves and should go to a family or even individual that will have the time to give her long walks, keep her active and happy with playing with her and also give her the freedom to chill and relax in the sun or just sleep. i dont think she should be around another dog as she is good with meeting other dogs but she is a dominant dog, but also, she does like to be alone, she likes the attention and being pampered. she likes being outside and laying on the sun so having a yard, even if its not a huge one is great for her, that said, she will need daily walks. i want someone who will see the loving sweet girls he is, and not the pitbull in her and think wrong about her for that. someone who has the patience to get to know her and she is a bit shy at first. and hopefully someone who dissapears but will send a picture here and there so we know she is doing great.
