Hi, My name is Vincent!

I am a orange long hair tabby Male American Long Hair Cat. I am 10 and weigh 9 pounds. My pet rehoming coordinator, Debbie, is convinced that I am a Maine Coon cat. I live in North Royalton, Ohio – a very short distance from both Cleveland and Akron, Ohio, and within a 2 hour drive from Windsor and London, ON, Toledo and Columbus, OH, Detroit, MI and Pittsburg, PA.

Are you thinking of adding a furry companion to your home and can’t make up your mind whether you want a cat or a dog? I am the purrfect choice – a COG, or maybe a DAT? I am the most dog-like cat you will ever meet. I am absolutely beautiful, with a long orange tabby coat and amazing markings. I have Jade green eyes that really stand out against my red coat.  I am very friendly and outgoing – I love human companionship.

I have been neutered and am up to date on my shots. I am very healthy and just 10 years old.

I have a lot of very endearing dog-like traits. I like to greet my humans at the door, and put my paws up on their legs just like a dog. I spin in circles when you feed me (I LOVE food and get really excited when it’s dinnertime!)  I follow you around the house and like to be involved in whatever you are doing.  If I could bark, I definitely would!

I was the cherished companion of my original owner, who passed away recently. We loved each other very much, and I am now being fostered by her brother. My foster family loves me a lot, but they already have 3 cats of their own to care for, and I would really prefer being the “only cat” – the center of your universe. I would love to find a home with some great older kids, but little children scare me. I might be OK with a dog in the home – as long as the dog is cat-friendly.

Here’s what my foster owner loves the most about me:

1. Vincent is a very attractive cat.
2. He has very soft long hair.
3. He is a lap cat and will demand attention. For instance, he has a routine where he will get on the bathroom counter when we are getting ready for work in the morning and want attention.
4. He gets excited about his food and you can get him to spin in circles before you put down his food bowl.
5. He greets you when you get home in the evening. Oftentimes, he will get on his hind legs and put his front paws on your thighs like a dog.

Vincent’s Current Home Environment

Quiet suburban home with lots of cat accessible windows.

Vincent’s Current Family:

Our family consists of myself and my wife, Sue. Currently we have 3 other cats besides Vincent. Isabelle is the oldest at 19 yrs. We have two other boys, Orlando (~9) and Felix (8).

Vincent’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Vincent loves his wet food (Fancy Feast, 1/2 can per feeding). As I said earlier, you can get him to spin in circles before setting his food down. It’s amazing how fast he cleans his plate. Then he goes with the help of Orlando and cleans up everybody else’s plates.

Cute Vincent Story:

Vincent likes to get under blankets. I the mid afternoon, it’s not uncommon to go into the master bedroom and find a lump under the quilt. He’s just having his deep afternoon nap.

Why is Vincent Being Rehomed?

Vincent was my late sister’s cat. Right before she passed away (June 23, 2015), we took Vincent in. Vincent was an only cat for most of his life and would be happier as an only cat.

Vincent’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Vincent would be happy in a one cat quiet household. He has never been around children and would probably be happiest in an adult household. He could probably tolerate cat savvy teens too.

Additional Comments:

I want to make sure that Vincent is in a happy home. If, for some reason, he doesn’t work out, we will take him back.
