American Akita For Adoption in Newberg Oregon

Bronson is a healthy young American Akita Dog for adoption in Newberg, Oregon, This extra large and very handsome boy weighs 105 pounds. He has been fixed, fully vaccinated and micro-chipped. He is house-broken and well behaved. Bronson suffers from anxiety as a result of being attacked at Obedience School.

He shows fear-based aggression towards other dogs as a result of this attack. Bronson’s owner is in the military and will soon be away for long periods of time. He wants to find a really good home for this very sweet and deserving dog before he is deployed.

Bronson would thrive in a country home where he can run, play and feel safe. He is ideally suited to an acreage, farm or ranch, and a large, securely fenced area is a must. Bronson pulls at his lease, so may be too big and strong for some people, but his loving personality and loyalty more than make up for any shortcomings.

If you have room in your heart and home for this gorgeous purebred American Akita, please offer Bronson a loving home today.

There is a $300.00 Adoption Fee. Supplies and veterinary records will be included.

He has been in a couple fights with other dogs (typically started by other dogs that get off leash), although none have been serious. I keep him on leash at all times and try to maintain a 50–100 foot distance between him and other dogs, for his safety and the safety of other dogs. He has been in obedience and anxiety/aggression training with limited success.

Bronson does seem to get separation anxiety unless his mate (also considering rehoming her, they might do better if kept together) or his humans are around. By himself, he could chew or scratch doors.

He needs an experienced adopter.

Why is Bronson Being Rehomed?

Bronson does get along with my parents’ Akitas. They are elderly and are having trouble keeping the peace between the dogs. There have been a couple fights, not serious though, but still concerning. Bronson also is a strong dog and does pull quite a bit on the leash, and this has caused my parents to fall down. I am in military training for most of the next year and unfortunately cannot have the dogs with me with during that time. It’s not safe for my parents or Bronson to remain in the current living situation.

Bronson’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Looking for an experienced and patient pet owner. Bronson would benefit from having a large enclosed space to run around in during the day. It would also be important that Bronson be the only pet at the home (he does better with females, but could still be problematic).
