Ripley’s Personality

Ripley is a 1 and a half-year-old Great Dane who absolutely LOVES people! He wants to meet everyone he encounters, including children. He does need to be closely supervised with small children, as he is still unaware of his own size and will accidentally knock them down due to his excitement.

Ripley lives with a 9-year-old Cocker Spaniel and tends to bully, but not be aggressive in any way. He just really likes to be the only one getting attention and seems to do just fine with large dogs. He did spend some time in doggy daycare until around the age of 8 months, so he is very socialized with other dogs.

Ripley has been neutered and does know basic commands and has no issues with destructive behavior. Ripley has been kennel trained from the time he was a pup, and sleeps there at night and when no one is home. He finds it a comforting place.

He has a life long training package with “Bark Busters” that will transfer with him to his new forever home. He has been in the same home since he was 8 weeks old. We are having to rehome Ripley due to a life change and change to our living situation, and we do so with VERY heavy hearts.

Ripley’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Favorite toy is a large, basketball size ball thet he loves to play soccer with.
Food is “Simply Nourish” Limited ingredient Salmon Flavor for Large Breeds
Loves to take walks

Cute Ripley Story:

When my granddaughter was still crawling, he would follow her around the house as if he thought he needed to protect her.

Why is Ripley Being Rehomed?

My husband and I work 12-15 hour days and feel he needs someone who has much more time for him, as he LOVES people and needs more companionship. Unfortunately, the cost of daycare/petsitters is just too much to afford.

Ripley’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

We would love a home where someone has a lot of time for him. He also LOVES children, however he does need some supervision with small children as he is still young and not yet aware of his size/strength.

He is never agressive, but can sometimes be a bully when it comes to other dogs competing for human attention. He tries to sort of “herd/corral” them to ensure he gets the attention…LOL[/vc_column_text][/vc_tta_section]
