Meet Lilly, Dachshund Mix For Adoption in Cypress Texas

Lilly is a very sweet and comical Dachshund mix dog for adoption in Cypress Texas, just 25 miles from Houston. Lilly, aged 6, is a healthy dog and has been spayed, micro-chipped and house broken. She has an darling and quirky personality – best suited for a senior or retired couple looking for just one special dog to cherish.

Lilly would be the perfect companion for small children if it were not for her tendency to eat their food. That’s right, she follows children around all day enjoying treat after treat. Her girth has understandably grown in her current home with three little kids under 4 years of age. The children are happy to share with her, and clap and cheer at her antics, which include not-so-gracefully making her way to the table top to ensure there are no little bits of food left that would otherwise go to waste. Such a helpful and conscientious canine!

As you can see, Lilly could stand to lose a few pounds (but couldn’t we all?).  She is a pretty little girl with big brown eyes and Dachshund ears. Unlike most Dachshund mixes, Lilly has long, lean legs. Despite her rolly-polly belly, Lilly could be a canine dancer. She has the moves and attitude – yes, she is a Diva!

Lilly’s Mom would keep her were it not for taking care of three little ones under four, managing the household and working from home. Having just gone through a divorce, and with Lilly’s penchant for toddler tidbits, it is difficult to control her food intake and keep her lean and healthy. She is hoping to find a home for Lilly where she will be the only pet in the home. Lilly spreads joy wherever she goes, and will add sunshine and happiness to the lives of her new owners, whether they be a couple, a single or a family with children older than 10.

If you are looking for a really cute and comical canine companion, you MUST meet this lovable lump of a dog. Get in touch with us today to request a meet up (following social distancing guidelines, of course). Lilly can’t wait to meet you and show you the true meaning of unconditional love! Lilly’s Personality

Just one of the gang! Lilly tries very hard to be accepting of her kids. She sometimes gets a little scared and runs away when they chase her, but she does her best to be their friend. Such a good little dog.

Energetic, Playful, loving, snuggly, calm when she’s not getting attention, but loves when she is getting attention. Loves to go on walks and run and play fetch. Enjoys playing with older kids, can get scared a bit when my toddlers try to chase her. But shes never been aggressive with kids or people.

When she gets in trouble with people she gets scared and runs with her tail between her legs. But she tries to be the dominate alpha when around other dogs. Shes loving with her other dog brother and plays well with him but she is definitely the alpha with him. And both dogs behave better when the other is not around.

She’s been stealing food from my 3 toddlers and off tables. She’s territorial with other animals. Chases squirrels and bit a small dog that got into our yard. But shes well behaved around strangers. And is ok with other dogs if introduced properly.

Why is Lilly Being Rehomed?

Recently divorced, 3 toddlers and moved into a new house. Its been a lot to manage on my own. She’s been taking food from my kids hands and getting on the table to get food if no one is watching. The neighbors small dog got into our backyard and she bit the other dog. There are a lot of squirrels and shes constantly trying to chase them and bark after them. I don’t have the energy for her and she deserves more attention than I can give her. Shes a very sweet dog and I do care about her but I can’t manage it anymore and my neighbor is upset about her dog getting bit even though her dog was in our yard.
