Dingus- Pit Bull Terrier Mix to adopt in Charleston South Carolina

Dingus- pit bull terrier mix to adopt in charleston south carolina Dingus is an American Pit Bull Terrier (Pitbull) mix dog for adoption in Charleston, South Carolina.
This amazing dog is a prime example for why Pitbulls were American’s favorite family dog breed for decades – long before they received such a bad rap in the press.
Dingus is the quintessential “love dog”. He literally lives to be with his humans. He is friendly, laid back, funny, affectionate, playful, gentle and a fantastic companion. Dingus gets along well with other dogs, cats and is so good with children and people of all ages and sizes. He is only 4 years old, very healthy, fixed, up to date on shots, well behaved, house trained, leash trained and more. He is a “ready to love” dog – just adopt and enjoy!

As his family says: “He’s the most cuddly animal I have ever met by a long shot! Dingus has no off switch for cuddling. Very Gentle and well behaved around strangers, children, other animals. Excited to go anywhere and will stay well behaved while you are out. He Keeps our home feeling like home. Walking into the house is much nicer knowing hes there excited and waiting. He wears his emotions on his face like a human. It is very easy to read his state of mind and his goofy faces make me laugh.”

Dingus- pit bull terrier mix to adopt in charleston south carolinaDingus will be rehomed with all supplies and vet records, along with the sincere appreciation of his family. His family are devastated to have to rehome him, but work has required a lot of extra travel and that has meant poor Dingus has to spend too much time in kennels, home alone or without the family activity that he loves.
It is heartbreaking but they love him and  want him to have a better life that they are able to provide these days. If you knew Dingus, then you’d know how much he gives in return for the time we try to give him.  This adorable family dog needs a full-time family.  If you have a fenced yard where he can play and have time to exercise and play with him,  you’d make this loveable dog the happiest pup in South Carolina!

If you have been looking for the right family dog to adopt in Charleston and area, or know somebody who would love a companion like Dingus, then please consider him – he can’t wait to charm his way into your heart and home – and show you the true meaning of unconditional love

4. He Keeps our home feeling like home. Walking into the house is much nicer knowing hes there excited and waiting.

Dingus’s Current Home Environment

We live in a fairly small townhouse about 1500sq/ft. When we are home we spend much of our time downstairs in the kitchen and living room. Dingus has a few beds around the house that he likes a lot and will usually post up wherever we are. We work from home often but he usually naps during that part of the day and starts to get lively around 5 when he knows its time for his walk.

Dingus’s Current Family:

Our family is just Myself, my fiance, and Dingus. We are in our late 20s and have had Dingus for 3.5 Years. We are both Project Managers for work and are very outdoorsy in our free time. Dingus loves to join when we can manage it. We spend lots of time together when we are around but because of work we are very often not at home. We are hoping to settle our careers down in the next 5 years but feel it is not fair to make Dingus wait until then.

Dingus’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Dingus is very food motivated but he isn’t picky. We usually add a bit of water to his food because he basically inhales anything we give him. We cook a lot and will sometimes add some broth or rendered fat in with his meal. Treats range from store bought dog treats to single pieces of kibble and he doesn’t really care either way.
His favorite toys are tennis balls by far. We found these cheap indestructible rubber tennis balls because the fiber glass in a normal tennis ball is bad for his teeth. The rubber balls seem to give him the feedback he’s looking for like, he might be able to destroy it, but never does and he doesn’t seem to mind. If you give him a plush toy he will destroy it for fun but he knows the difference between something that is his and something that isn’t. He will NEVER touch shoes, pillows, stuffed animals, etc, unless you offer it to him as a toy.
His very favorite activity is fetch with those rubber balls. We take him to a nearby field (we don’t have much of a yard) and sling the balls as far as we can. He sprints as fast as he can after it and brings it back reliably. You can’t really tell just how exhausted he makes himself until you pack it in. After that hes a very happy dog and pooped for at least 6 hours if you really run him hard.

Cute Dingus Story:

Why is Dingus Being Rehomed?

This is a very difficult and sad process for us. Dingus is our family and we love him dearly. At this stage in our lives we are both traveling very often for work. When we aren’t traveling much of our time is also taken up by our 2nd jobs. When we are home and not working we try to spend as much time with Dingus as possible but every travel/busy day that passes we feel that we are wasting more of our dog’s life. Hes a good boy and deserves a home that can give him the attention he deserves. It is for that reason that we feel we have to find him a better home.

Dingus’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

We would like a adoptive family that will love Dingus like we do but give him the attention he deserves. He is very comfortable sleeping and being patient throughout the day, so he doesn’t need someone with him 24/7, but we are looking for a family that will have someone around more regularly than we can manage ourselves. He is much happier if he is at least in the same room as someone.
