Hi, My name is Taylor!

Am I not the most glorious cat you have ever laid eyes on? I am a purebred Siberian cat, with a loving and sweet personality. I have a cream mackerel coat, and the most beautiful light green eyes in perfect contrast to my soft coat. I currently live with my owners in Brooklyn, NY, and am 9 years old.

I love my owners very much, and they adore me. However, my home is no longer a happy place for me. Little kids have invaded my territory, and, like most cats, they frighten the living daylights out of me.

I spend my days hiding from these little terrors, and I have started to have some accidents outside the litter box. I have some chronic urinary tract problems that the vet calls “idiopathic cystitis” ( urinary tract infection of unknown cause). Being in a constant state of stress is possibly what causes me to have this problem. A nice, new home where I feel safe and happy will probably make this problem resolve.

I am looking for the best home ever. I want a home with a single or couple who are die-hard Siberian cat lovers, and who will cherish me. You will need to have unconditional love for me, and be williing to have patience while I relearn proper litter box habits. Placement of my litter boxes, and experimenting with different boxes and litter types will help me a lot.

My owners have been told that I may have bladder stones. Surgery will correct this problem, and if needed, my owners are willing to help bear the cost of getting it taken care of.

Here is what my owners love the most about me:

She is affectionate
She is calm and quiet
She is very soft
She is beautiful
She is not a picky eater

Please offer me the quiet, safe and loving home I need and deserve today. I can’t wait to mesmerize you with my gorgeous green eyes and purr my way into your heart!

Love, Taylor the Siberian Cat

Age of Pet: 9 years, 8 months
Spayed/Neutered?: Yes
Health Problems: Yes – The vet has said that she has “idiopathic cystitis”. This condition is made worse by stress, and for this reason, Taylor needs a quiet home with a calm, predictable environment. It is possible that she may need to have surgery to remove bladder stones. The owner is willing to help bear the cost of this procedure, should it be necessary. Other than this issue, Taylor is a healthy, happy cat. A different environment should help this problem clear up.
Up To Date on Vaccinations: Unknown
Gets along with cats: No
Gets along with dogs: No
Good with Children?: No
House Broken or Litter Trained?: Yes
Crate Trained?:
Accessories Included: Taylor has a nice (and relatively new, less than a year old) cat tree. Our vet has discussed options about treating her bladder stone, and if it cannot be resolved through diet, and surgery is necessary, my husband and I would be willing to contribute some money to her new family towards that expense. We are hoping that with the change in environment, and perhaps a change of diet to something specific for urinary issues, her urination out of the box will resolve.

Taylor’s Personality

She is affectionate
She is calm and quiet

She is not a picky eater

Taylor’s Current Home Environment

Currently our home environment is a little loud and hectic, as we live in a small apartment and just had our third child, and have two children 5&7. Also, about a year ago, we got a dog who is high energy and intrudes on the cat’s space. We purchased a cat tree when the dog continued eating the cat’s food, and she now rests and eats on her cat tree in order. She tends to prefer sitting up on something (a bed, the top of a chair, her cat tree).

Taylor’s Current Family:

We have a relatively big, young, and active family, with three young children, and a young, active dog. We got Taylor before we had children, and had a much quieter, calmer home. Unfortunately, we have observed that Taylor has become more stressed as we have added the dog and the recent birth of our third child.

Taylor’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Taylor is not a picky eater- she used to eat Blue Buffalo dry food (and before that Iams dry food), but as of late has been eating canned 9 lives, in order to give more moisture to her diet to help with the urinary issues.
Taylor enjoys lure toys (a stick with a feather, or bell or small toy on the end), batting them around. At this age, Taylor mostly enjoys snuggling someone- she purrs up a storm when you pet her.

Cute Taylor Story:

I dont have one specifically, but at different points of Taylor living with us, through the different changes, she has always adaptively sought out affection. For example, when we moved to this new, smaller apartment, and had another child, she started a new routine where she would come to my bed at night, on my side of the bed, and would look to be pet. She would wait for it to be quiet, the children to be in bed, so she could have some quality time with me. For a while, she would also sleep with my older children in their bed in the morning- again, it was quiet, and when they woke up, they would have some quality time petting her.

Why is Taylor Being Rehomed?

Unfortunately, I think with the recent changes in our family, our home has become much more stressful for Taylor than before, and that stress is negatively impacting the amount of time and attention she receives, and with her urinary issues, it is impacting her health. I think she would have a better quality of life if she were able to be rehomed with a family without small children and without a dog, where she could have more attention, and more calm in the home.

Taylor’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

I think Taylor would be a great fit for a family without young children and without other dogs or cats. Taylor thrives best when she feels the most secure and safe, and can become skittish with too much chaos in a house.

Additional Comments:

Is I discussed with Deborah on the phone last week, our vet has discussed options about treating her bladder stone, and if it cannot be resolved through diet, and surgery is necessary, my husband and I would be willing to contribute some money to her new family towards that expense. We are hoping that with the change in environment, and perhaps a change of diet to something specific for urinary issues, her urination out of the box will resolve.
