Meet Rocky Raccoon, Maine Coon Cat Adopted in San Diego CA

Rocky Raccoon is a male Maine Coon Cat for adoption to a very loving home in or near San Diego, CA. This very special Cat is 10 years old and weighs 18 pounds. Rocky is in very good health. He is up to date on shots and has been neutered. He is litter box trained and a very clean and well behaved cat.

Rocky enjoys the company of respectful children and is outgoing and affectionate with people. He has not been around dogs, but would be fine with a very cat-friendly dog. He is usually good with other cats, but would need to be slowly introduced.

Rocky’s owner is a student who is having to move home with her family. They are not able to accommodate Rocky due to having other pets that would not welcome him. She is dearly hoping to find Rocky his forever home with a real cat lover who will adore him and keep him safe, happy and healthy for the rest of his life. She would love to keep in touch with him, and would be willing to cat sit for his new owners if needed.

Rocky will be rehomed with all supplies and veterinary records. Please offer this amazing Maine Coon cat the loving home he needs and deserves today. Rocky can’t wait to charm his way into your heart.

Rocky Raccoon’s Current Home Environment

Currently living in an apartment with myself and one roommate, but will be moving back with my parents which is why I need to rehome such a wonderful cat. He is indoor only but does go out on a private balcony. He has a cat bed that doubles as a corner table he loves to hide out in and loves to bask in the sun during the day.

Rocky Raccoon’s Current Family:

I adopted Rocky Raccoon when he was 4 years from my best friend’s mom who could no longer care for him. We’ve been the best of buds ever since! We have moved a few times in the Pacific Beach & Crowne Point Area, and have had several roommates who have all loved Rocky (he even won over a previous cat hater).

Fun Fact: he is the brother of Penny Lane, who is owned by Purrrcast and MFM Podcast star Steven Ray Morris.

Rocky Raccoon’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Rocky loves to cuddle and play! He might be a little older, but it hasn’t slowed him down one bit! His favorite toy is a feather attached to a string or the laser pointer. He loves anything that has cheese/dairy, chicken/poultry, and tuna. He loves to scratch his two cat posts which as long as he has he will never scratch furniture!

Cute Rocky Raccoon Story:

When he is particularly snuggly no hand is safe from pets. You don’t even have to do the work, just hold your hand out and he finds a way to pet himself. Typing on your laptop? Not anymore! His head miraculously slips underneath your hand. Fall asleep on the couch? You’ll find yourself with a cat curled up with you. He loves to be the little spoon!

Why is Rocky Raccoon Being Rehomed?

I am moving back in with my parents until I am finished with grad school to save money, but unfortunately, they cannot accommodate another pet (they already have 3 cats and a dog). They offered to let me borrow some money for an apartment so I could keep him because they also love him so much, but I didn’t feel comfortable accepting the money because I don’t know when I’ll be able to pay them back with all my school debt.

Rocky Raccoon’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

I know I will be very sad, and Rocky may be sad initially, but as long as he is being loved and adored he will be happy anywhere! I would love to find him a family or home where there are several people to give him love because he will give and take it from anyone and everyone! I think he would do GREAT with a family with kids, but he does have claws so they would have to be old enough to know not to pull his tail or something.

Also, if things don’t work out, I would like the family to contact ME and not put him in a shelter or just give him away because I am committed to finding him the right home!

Additional Comments:

I wouldn’t expect direct contact, but I would just like to know that he is happy and healthy in his new home. Also, Rocky has a following on Instagram so I’d love it if his new family kept me (his #1 fan) and all his other fans up to date on his latest silly antics!

I will be honest about a few things that you might want to be aware of to make sure it’s a good fit:

1) He has furry paws we call “toe froes” that can track litter – we use pine pellets (feline pine, trader joes brand, etc.) and this totally solves that problem!

2) He loves to chat and will become your shadow following you around the house. It’s the sweetest thing, but he is needy of attention! Not your typical “I’ll see you when I see you” cat attitude.

3) He had one UTI 2 years ago which is why I switched the urinary health dry food and has not had any issues since. I usually just leave a small bowl of dry food out, and then feed him half a can of wet food in the morning and/or in the evening.

Literally, he is the sweetest cat, and I am so sad I can’t keep him, but I know that you will love him as much as I do!
