Here is how our dog rehoming team presented Barney and Bella to attract their forever home:
Introducing Barney and Bella, a pair of bonded small lap dogs for adoption in Concord NC, near Charlotte. Barney is a mix of Shih Tzu and Yorkshire Terrier (also known as a Shorkie). His best friend Bella is a purebred Shih Tzu. Together, they form the most adorable pair of lap dogs for adoption in the Charlotte area.
Aged 7 and 5, these doggie best friends are healthy, fixed, up to date on shots, house trained and well behaved. They are small sized; Barney weighs 11 pounds, while Bella is tiny at just 7 pounds. Barney is more gregarious than Bella. She is a little shy and reserved until she gets to know you. Both dogs are wonderful companions. They love to cuddle, play with toys, cuddle some more, and get lots of tummy rubs.
Barney and Bellas owner is very sad to have to rehome them. It is a decision she has thought long and hard about, with her dogs’ best interests at heart. She works very long hours, and the dogs are left alone at home far too much. She feels that they would be happier in a home where they have human companionship most of the time, and is looking for dog lovers who are seniors, retired or work from home. They are best suited to be the only pets in the home, and are not a good choice for children due to their tiny size (particularly Bella).
Barney and Bella must be rehomed together. They are closely bonded, and will not be separated. These sweet dogs will be rehomed with all supplies and vet records. Barney has allergies for which he takes a daily pill. Other than that, both dogs are very healthy and well-cared-for.

I live in a quiet 1 bedroom apartment. Barney and Bella are used to being free to roam the apartment, getting on couches, and sleeping in the bed (Barney-specifically under the covers and at your legs/feet, Bella-curled up next you, head above the covers).

Barney & Bella’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?
Barney does not play with toys often, but when he is in a playful mood he has a pet pillow “Molly” that he likes to drag around and chew on. His favorite foods are his treats (mini milk bones), apples, cheese….and most any human food if you’re willing to offer. His favorite activities are sunbathing, napping, car rides, and going on walks.
Bella has a few toys that she loves to play with that include an egg, a starfish, and a cat. Her favorite foods are the little red pieces in her dog food and cheese. Bella’s favorite activities include playing with her toys, being held and rubbed, and playing with Barney. She also likes to watch dog tv on youtube!
Cute Barney & Bella Story:
Barney and Bella have a lot of funny little quirks about them! Both, will for sure keeping you laughing and in good company.
Each time I leave the house I will give them a treat (mini milk bone). Barney is quick to remind me and will certainly let me know if I forget to grab a treat on the way out. It has now become the running joke of the house calling their treats “tolls” as it has become a routine way of getting past Barney and out the door!
Anytime I turn the hairdryer on both are quick to run to me and beg to have their hair blow dried. Bella loves having her hair blow dried. Barney is not as sure about it, but doesn’t like to miss out!
Why is Barney & Bella Being Rehomed?
Unfortunately, Barney and Bella do not get the attention they deserve due to my busy schedule. I feel guilty always being away and want them to have a more present companion that can spend most days/nights with them.
Barney & Bella’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:
A loving family or person that has plenty of time to spend with Barney and Bella! Ideally someone that is home a lot and has a lot of love and attention to give.
Additional Comments:
I would like to stay in contact with Barney and Bella as much as possible. An occasional text/phone call update, and/or visit would be great!
