Shar Pei Mix For Adoption 7

Yiddish found her forever home. We are so happy that we were able to find a compassionate dog lover willing to take this sweet dog into her heart and home.

Here is how our rehoming team presented Yiddish to attract her new family:

Hi, My name is Yiddish!

I am the cherished pet of a family in Indianapolis for whom the unthinkable happened. Cancer. My Mom has brain and liver cancer, and my family have had to sell our home and move into a small loft in order to pay for her treatment.

They love me very much, but life right now is very chaotic. They have no time to spend with me, and I am not getting the exercise and play that I need and deserve in this small space.

I am a really GOOD dog. I love everyone and am GENTLE and sweet. I am good buddies with cats, kids, and other dogs.

I am very healthy, spayed, up to date on my shots, well trained, house broken and very well behaved.

My family is hoping to find me a very loving home with people who will cherish me as much as they do. This is a heartbreaking situation for us all, and we are praying that a nice family will offer me a home and help take a great burden off their hearts so that they can focus on beating this terrible Cancer.

I’ll be rehomed with my supplies, along with the very deep gratitude of my family.

Here’s what they love most about me:

Alerts: At night she’s not afraid to investigate strange sounds or things.

Loyal: She like to follow you around even if you are in an open area and she gets detracted she’ll stop what she is doing to look for you/come back to you.

Agility: She may be short and round but she is fast and boy can she jump high! It’s astounding.

Smart: Although she can be a flake sometimes she is really very smart. She knows commands some commands in Hebrew, German & English. She is a quick learner when you work with her.

I love her wrinkle face! Seriously, that Shar Pei/Mastiff type nose bump gets me every-time. SO CUTE.

Yiddish’s Current Home Environment

CURRENT: small loft the landlord lives down stairs with his two cats and German shepherd. We have a medium sized backyard with a tall wood-fence and a standard height chain link fence on the front half which are connected. The house itself is busy with different people coming and going. There have been an array of visiting animals for her to play with. The landlord practices music here as well so now she is accustom to loud play from band practice.

PREVIOUS: farm house in a small town. large yards, pool, plenty of room inside and out. Patch vegetables, various plant life, tortoise, ducks, 6 different other does of various size breed and gender bot fixed and not. cats male and female, small children almost daily, various species of birds and fish, rabbits, a squirrel, opossums & persons of all ages and races came to visit.

Yiddish’s Current Family:

I am a vegetarian mother of one. I work for a economic sanitation laboratory. We like to go for walks and hikes when we can, but these days we just stay busy with work and school. We use to live with Grandma but now we rent a loft as she has fallen ill.

Yiddish’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

She’s very food motivated! She was eating grain free but just a few days ago we switched to hypoallergenic (5 or less ingredients) food per recommendation of an animal dermatologist to see if that would help with her allergies.
Favorite toys are definitely rope toys paws down she could play with them for hours. She also likes, stick, boomies, ball, ect.
She like release and return play and tug of war. Running and jumping are some of her favorite things. Play with other animals, snuggling and giving kisses.
Sometimes she’s up for a swim but usually prefers natural bodies of water does not really like swimming pools.

Cute Yiddish Story:

She use to stay in our pantry when we first found her so that she would have time to adjust to the more exotic animals/made house training easier. The area was closed off with baby gate which she learn to just in like 2days. So we put up split barn door and left the top part open. It was about 4ft high that way. Now Yiddish is very short and stout. I came back from a 3day trip and she was leaping back and fourth behind that door when she heard me. Next thing you know paws over the top, frantic scraping sounds as her head flopped up there to met them. We are cracking up as she tries to pull herself yup this thing twice her length using her chin and two paws on the maybe 3″ ledge on his bottom door. Of course she falls. I go to unpack and my mom yells for me…I come and there she is, perched on the ledge horizontally one paw in front of the other standing there 4 1/2 feet from the ground. I burst out laughing and she is so excited to she me she starts wagging her tail, smacking it against the top open door and she eventually lost her balance and fell. Ten seconds later she jumped and did a weird twist clearing that thing like Babe the pig or the flying hippos from Fantasia.

Why is Yiddish Being Rehomed?

We have recently moved from a farm house in the country to a loft in the city due cancer diagnoses in my mother. We are selling the house to pay for treatment. Not only does Yiddish not have enough space but she does not get the attention she needs. She deserves better.

Yiddish’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Persons whom are serious pet owners/lovers. Yiddish is a good girl that requires some maintenance. She needs some one to take care of her Physically and emotionally to keep her not only healthy but happy. She is still very young just under 2. I would prefer someone active and outgoing to keep her going. Some who is not afraid to play with her or keep her socialized with other people and animals(not just dogs). She is a rescue so she needs love. Someone Trustworthy & Loyal.

Additional Comments:

I would love to receive updates on Yiddish from her new home as long as this is okay with the new owner(s). If you cannot care for her anymore for any reason what so ever be it 20mins or 20yrs from know please contact me. I WILL COME GET HER. I would much rather make arrangements to have her with me then but put in a shelter or dumped.
