Yorkie Bichon Frise Shih Tzu Mix For Private Adoption in Calgary AB - Adopt Mimi

Yorkie bichon frise shih tzu mix for private adoption in calgary ab - adopt mimi

Mimi has been adopted.

Mimi is a healthy 4 year old Bichon Frise mix dog for private adoption in Calgary Alberta. A mix of Bichon Frise, Yorkshire Terrier and Shih Tzu – Mimi weighs 19 pounds and has a creamy colored coat similar to that of the Shih Tzu. She has been spayed and is up to date on her shots. Mimi is house trained, crate trained and pee-pad trained (for winter months).

Mimi is a devoted, affectionate, sweet and very happy little dog. She greets her owner at the door, and happily follows her everywhere in the house. She is playful and joyful.

Because she feels the need to be protective of her owner, Mimi is best suited as a companion for a single dog lover. She can act aggressively when at home towards anyone who tries to touch or sit next to her owner. This seems to be an instinctive behavior, and the best way to manage it is to place Mimi in a quiet home with just one devoted dog lover who lives alone and does not do a lot of entertaining or have a lot of visitors.

Mimi is good on a leash, and the aggression is only an issue when she is in her home with her owner. She is perfect at the groomers and when away from her “territory”.

Mimi has a wonderful, happy and affectionate personality and is an amazing companion. It is hoped that by placing her in a home where she will not need to feel protective of her owner, that this issue will be a non-issue.

Mimi will be rehomed with all supplies and veterinary records. Adopt this beautiful Shih Tzu mix dog in Calgary today.

Mimi’s Personality

She’s affectionate and always super excited to see me.
She loves to play.
She walks very well on a leash.
I love that she follows me all over
She comes when called

Mimi’s Current Home Environment

I live in a 3 story walk up townhouse. There is no yard just a shared green space so I walk her around the complex. She is pee-pad trained for the cold winter days that I can’t walk her. She is home alone for 8 hours a day which makes me sad but she is used to it.

Mimi’s Current Family:

I live with my adult daughter and we share caring for her.

Mimi’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Her favorite toys are anything that squeaks and fits in her mouth. She loves to chew denta-stix and her favorite treat is dehydrated liver (Bully’s)
Her diet is Royal Canine dry food, supplemented with stewing beef, carrots and broccoli that I cook for her.

Cute Mimi Story:

When she has a stick that she loves, she will try to bury it along the side of your leg or elbow if you’re sitting watching tv. If you accidentally make eye contact with the stick she gets all huffy and buries it somewhere else.

Why is Mimi Being Rehomed?

With her being aggressive towards people that come close to me or touch me, it makes me nervous to have friends and family over. It only happens if I’m in the house. When she’s getting groomed for example, they always mention what a sweet dog she is.

Mimi’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

An ideal home for her would be someone who can stay home with her a bit more in the day. Maybe someone semi-retired. I would love to see her go to a home with a bit of a yard she can go in. I don’t like that she’s inside all the time. She’s never been socialized with other dogs so I don’t know how she would react. I did take her to the Human Society obedience training when she was a year old.

Additional Comments:

I would love to see her go to a home where someone can spend more time with her. My main concern is leaving her alone for too many hours a day. She is used to it however and even if I stay home for the day she ends up sleeping the whole time.
She would do great in a home with a yard that she can run around in.
