Henry has a personality that will melt your heart! He loves to play chase and is an expert at keep-away. He is also a fan of squeaky toys and will try to sneak them away from you. He is very smart and loves solving dog puzzles.
Henry is affectionate and loves tummy rubs. He will give you all his love tenfold. He is one of those dogs that is “almost human”, and, as such, is incredibly intelligent and understands everything that is going on around him. He is sensitive to his owner’s mood, and would make a fantastic in-home emotional support animal, best suited for someone who is home-bound, but able to take him for a good daily walk and has the energy to play with him and give him endless tummy rubs.
Because of his high level of smarts, Henry can be anxious. The triggers for his anxiety are sudden changes. Like all dogs, but more so for Henry, he thrives when he has a strong routine, and when he is given time to adjust to new people and situations. He is very adaptable, and once in a situation for a short while is happy to “get with the program”. He has gone to doggie daycare and to the groomers, and done well. He just needs that extra time to adjust. Henry gets along well with other dogs. He is housebroken and litter-trained.

Henry’s Personality
The best way to describe Henry’s personality is joyful. He has unlimited energy and will follow you around anywhere you go. One of his favorite things to do is play chase – you throw the toy and he chases it …then plays keep away. He’s fast!!
His love for squeaky toys is like no other dog I’ve known. He’s mastered the art of sneak and swipe when there’s food or treats unguarded. He is very smart and learns quickly. Henry loves dog puzzles and solves them easily.
Henry is very affectionate. Tummy rubs are one of his favorite things and he’s very intense about continuing a tummy rub session. Another trait of Henry’s is stubbornness and will actually ignore you and look away if he’s decided not to listen; it’s hilarious.
Henry has slept with us all his life and is an expert snuggler. Although he hates it when he sees movement under the covers (like legs) and will swiftly move to the couch at the foot of our bed to finish the night.
Henry is a very sensitive dog and quickly senses change or sadness. He’s never been struck or harshly treated, nor intimidated by humans. Henry has led a pretty sheltered life.
He is very attached to me and gets sad and subdued when I’m not around. He’s definitely a lap dog and will sit/sleep with you literally for hours, until it’s time to play.
Henry needs lots of affection and will give it back 10 times. I would say security is a vital key for him to function and thrive.
