Randy has found his forever famiily! We are so happy to have been able to find this sweet Labrador Retriever the home he needed in just 6 days. Randy is now the cherished companion of Darrin and his children, who live in Olympia. They have a very big fenced yard for Randy to romp and play in, and tons of time to spend with him. A much better situation than living in a cramped apartment and spending his days alone, waiting for his owner to come home from work.

Here is how our Dog Rehoming Team presented Randy to attract his new home:

Img_3575Shoreline, Washington – Randy is a typical Yellow Labrador Retriever puppy. Anyone familiar with the breed knows that these sweet, adorable dogs take a full 2 years to mature. In their puppy stage, Labs are big old goofballs. They are like a bull in a china shop, full of energy, excitement, and “joie de vivre”.

That’s Randy to a “T”. He’s a very sweet boy, but he jumps up, gets so excited that he leaps around and runs in circles, and can basically be a whirling dervish.

Randy needs a home with owners who are familiar with the breed and are prepared to give him firm love, consistent behavior modification, and lots of patience as he matures into the perfect family dog that all Labs are capable of becoming.

Randy is just 1 year old. He is a Yellow Lab. He is already a big boy at 70 pounds and has no health issues. He is neutered, micro-chipped and fully vaccinated. Randy as also been crate trained and is perfectly house broken.

Randy’s owner loves him so much, but being a single, working person, it is very difficult for him to give Randy the time and attention he needs and very much deserves. Randy needs a home with people who can spend lots of time with him, give him a ton of exercise, and help him learn to control his sheer puppyness.

If you are homeowners with a securely fenced back yard who have lots of time and patience for this loveable lug of a Lab, please offer Randy the home he needs and deserves today.

Personality

Randy is a true Lab Puppy. He loves all people, and is a velcro dog, and the happiest dog at the dog park. He does very well on the leash for runs. However, his puppy nature gets him into a bit of trouble which we are training to diffuse. His biggest “fault” is that he is very excitable.

Whenever there is a new stimulation he tends to get inappropriately excited. This can result in him jumping up, sprinting around the yard, jumping on furniture, etc. I believe this is the reason why he was a stray in the first place, because when he gets in a certain mood he thinks sprinting is a game. Overall, he would make for a great family dog who is willing to continue training, wait out the puppy years, with a closed backyard, and preferably not left home alone.

Reason For Rehoming

Randy is a loveable, classic family lab. I adopted Randy approximately 4 months ago from PAWS animal shelter after loosing my Australian shepherd about a year ago. He came in as a stray. I realize after owning Randy that he likely came from a busy family with a lot of people in the house, and I am a single owner. Things have been fun at times, and tough at other times, and I realize that the best situation for both myself and Randy would be to find him a family home.
