All About Pops

Pops’s Personality

Pops is a spunky little guy! He is quirky and very loving. Pops can be shy and unsure at first but will warm up. Once he knows he’s in good company he’ll want all the tummy rubs and ear scratchies he can get. Very smart this boy knows how to sit, stay, watch me, and leave it. Although he is mostly a free roaming pup, he does well on a leash and is usually walked in quiet places away from crowded areas but always on a leash. I have found that loud noises bother him especially the sound of a bouncing basketball. Pops has little springs on his feet! That means he jumps in excitement and wants you to notice him.

I love his tenderness, his funny excitement jumps, the way his tongue sticks out, and his weird little howls. Pops is a protective pup and will alert you if something isn’t right. Did I mention he’s an absolute cutie pie? Well he is! He has a lovely sweet stare and it melts my heart.

Pops’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Pops loves to roam about smelling stuff and cuddling up for some tummy loving. He doesn’t like baths but I’m told he behaves well at the groomers. He’s a ham with the ladies and more reserved around males. He’s never really been a play fetch or chew toy kind of dude but will chase about and jump. Aside from his daily meal he enjoys eating bananas, chilled watermelon and peanut butter!

Cute Pops Story:

So much to share! Sometimes this little guy comes into my room, FARTS, then casually leaves the room… Ok, thank you. Bye! Sometimes he’s farting while walking and quickly turns to see who was the culprit! Other times, if you’re eating close by and he sees a chance he will most definitely swipe your food! Pops can be very clumsy and goofy you really can’t help but laugh. Also, he does this little tippy tap thing with his paws as if he just can’t contain himself. He truly is a funny handsome boy!

Why is Pops Being Rehomed?

The top reason for rehoming is: Pops deserves a better quality life than what I am able to provide him. I would love nothing more than to see him thriving and living out the remainder of his life happily and peacefully. I have another pet (12 years old) who continues to decline in mental and physical faculties. With her declining health, stress has been at an all time high. There have been fights, prolonged anxiety induced barking and teeth chattering from this pet to Pops. The dogs don’t live in harmony and it’s not fair to either one. I have to take turns walking, feeding, cuddling, potty breaks, vet visits, and scheduling grooming appointments separately. More so now with my other pets declining mental & physical health. I’m unable to bring resolve to this on my own and do not have a support system to assist with both my pets.

Pops’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

More than anything patience and genuine love and concern for animals. I would like to see him go to a home where there’s a supportive family, he is the only pet, can run and roam, and be loved. He deserves to have a great life! Because Pops is both an indoor/outdoor pup his new family would need to be comfortable with having a pet inside as well as outside.

Additional Comments:

Pops is a rescue and he has been with me for 8 years now. I have been 100% involved with him and I know this is going to be hard for me and for him. I’d like to transition the rehoming if at all possible to reduce any stress this might create for him. It’s an incredibly difficult and sad decision to have to make but it’s in his best interest. It is selfish of me to keep him if I’m no longer able to provide a safe, happy, and peaceful home. I thank you for taking interest in this little boy!
