Rocky’s Personality

Very jolly silly rambunctious playful boy. Very sweet and loves people very much.

Rocky’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

He needs very very very ultra tough toys because he can chew through all the other kinds. Happy to send him with a bunch CCK of toys.

If he’s left alone at home he needs toys around, he knows that he is supposed to only chew on toys.

He loves any and all food

He likes chasing balls and frisbees but doesn’t always bring them back.

He loves frozen beef femur bones as a treat every once in a while. Gotta watch him and take them away once he is done eating the meat bits though so he doesn’t start breaking up the bone

Cute Rocky Story:

When he first came into our living room he was very suspicious of the ceiling fans and the TV. We’re not sure if he’d ever been in doors at that point. He sure gets excited to be inside with us though its very cute.

Why is Rocky Being Rehomed?

We actually rescued Rocky off the streets of Ashland City, TN. Neighbors said they had seen him around for about 3 weeks – he was likely dumped.

One woman had been bringing him some food and posted online asking for help if someone could come help get him and take him home.

My partner and I went to go help and were able to get him in our car and back to our house. Poor boy was covered in ticks and lacerations and was barely skin and bones but was very sweet.

We have a separate downstairs area we’ve kept him there with a bed and toys, we couldn’t let him up with our other three dogs because our young pup hadn’t been spayed yet and he wasn’t neutered.

We took him to the vet the next day and started getting him taken care of. It’s been about 6 weeks now and he’s totally tick free, vaccinated, worm free, neutered and microchipped.

We’ve tried for about a month to introduce him to our 3 dogs because we’d love to keep him but unfortunately our two oldest females are not accepting him so we’ve had to still keep them separate in doors.

He is such a sweet boy and deserves to be fully integrated into a family! He’s very nice to our girls, though he is very rambunctious and playful so just be aware of that.

Although with our littlest dog (30 pounds) he hasn’t gotten rowdy so could be no problem. We are still trying to introduce him to our girls but we didn’t know they would behave so territorial with a male dog.

He definitely deserves to be fully accepted into a good home – he’s all set to be the most loving and grateful boy! Vet says he’s totally healthy now, and puts his age around 1 year or less so he’s still quite young.

We’re happy to provide a bed, toys, leash, collar, and food with him.

Rocky’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Looking for someone with a nice size yard for him to play in because he loves being outside and it helps him run out his energy.

Someone who is familiar or experienced with large dogs. He needs consistent boundaries and direction. We’ve been teaching him basic commands and he’s doing very well so far, he’s a very smart boy, but he’ll need his new home to continue being consistent with him.

Would like to know what vet they will take him to if he gets sick or needs anything. Would also like to ensure that if the adoptive family for some reason decides that they cannot keep him then we will take him back, we don’t want him going to a shelter, we will foster him whenever he needs it.
