ADOPTED – Amazing Oliver – Male Lab/Border Collie Mix – Columbus Ohio

Oliver has found his forever family! He has gone to live with Lisa and her family in Taylor, Michigan.

Lisa said:

I think Oliver would be a good choice for our family because we have a lot of love to give to an animal. We are all dog lovers and we want to find a dog that needs a home and will enjoy lots of love. My girls are cuddlers with our current dog and they really would like to another. We recently got a 3-year-old dog from a family that could no longer care for her and she has brought pure joy into our home. I am a stay at home mom and my teenagers are home bodies. They also do online school so there is always someone home. Once in awhile we all go out but only for about an hour for dinner. We have a 6-foot privacy fence on one side of our yard and 4-foot chain linked fence around the rest of it.

Hi, My name is Oliver!

Ollie1

Oliver is everything you could possibly want in an amazing family dog – all bundled up in an adorable Black and White body. This Labrador Retriever / Border Collie mix is so smart – and what a personality! He is one of those dogs that definitely think they are human. Oliver is just 3 years old, weighs 50 pounds and is very healthy. He has been neutered and is up to date on his shots. Oliver is very well behaved and perfectly house broken.

Oliver lives with his owner in Columbus Ohio. She loves him dearly. Unfortunately, her schedule leaves very little time to spend with Oliver, and she realizes that he would have a better life with someone who can give him the time, attention and exercise he needs and very much deserves.

Oliver gets along with EVERYONE. His owner says he has never met a stranger. Everyone he meets is welcomed with such gusto and exuberance. He is great with kids, loves dogs and is also good with cats. He is a fantastic companion.

Oliver is looking for the best home ever. He wants to be in a family who have lots of time to spend with him. He needs to live in a house with a securely fenced back yard to play in. He would love to have a dog friend, but as long as he has people with him, he will be happy.

If you are looking for the perfect family companion, Oliver is waiting to meet you.

Please fill out our online meeting request form at http://petrehoming.net/adopt-a-pet and Olivers owner will contact you as soon as your information has been received.

Oliver’s Personality

1. He is social and loves people and dogs.
2. He has never peed or used the bathroom at all in my apartment.
3. He has a lot of happy/play energy.
4. He has never chewed my shoes or anything else other than his toys inside.
5. He cuddles at the end of the day.

Oliver’s Current Home Environment

Very small, 400 square foot apartment. Oliver has free reign of my apartment, is allowed on my couch, chair and bed.

Oliver’s Current Family:

I am a single woman. I am gone for work during the week days and have social obligations 4-5 nights a week. My calendar is pretty busy which does not allow me to give Ollie adequate exercise or attention. I love him but he is not as happy as he would be with someone home more often and with more time to spend together. His original paperwork suggested he go to a home with another dog or children, and I agree he would be better suited for that kind of environment.

Oliver’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Oliver loves to run, play with other dogs, play tug of war, play catch and anything that involves high energy and interaction.

Cute Oliver Story:

Ollie does not meet a stranger. He energetically greets anyone who comes into my apartment and loves interacting with people and dogs. He is confident but will submit to a more dominant pet while playing. He is very sweet and lays around in the evening once he has gotten all of his energy out.

Why is Oliver Being Rehomed?

I anticipated having much more time and energy to dedicate to him. He is a wonderful dog with no behavior issues. I just am not able to dedicate more than 30-45 minutes a day walking him and letting him out of my small apartment. Even though I love him and he is a great dog, I think he would be happier in a home who spent more dedicated time with him.

Oliver’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

I would love to see Ollie go to a home with at least one child or another dog if possible. If not, I’d love to see him go to a couple who could take turns taking him on walks since he does require a nice long one daily. He would be so happy if he could run around and have some independent exploration time in a back yard.

Additional Comments:

I would love to know Ollie is ok and be able to hear about him occasionally but if the adoptive family is uncomfortable with that, I would be ok knowing he is in good hands.
