Ember Barkette is a Female Louisiana Catahoula Dog for adoption to a very loving home in or near Marysville WA. This very special Dog is 4 years old and weighs 75 pounds.

Ember Barkette is being placed for adoption by owner for the following reason:

The person we adopted Ember from lied to us about her training. We were told she was fully potty trained, but she’s not quite there. She still has accidents in the house.

She wasn’t trained how to behave from a young age. I’ve tried everything I know and I think she gets it, but her excitement and enthusiasm takes over and she forgets. She’s a big strong girl, and she’s too much for me to handle. To get my attention when she wants to go outside, she uses her paws and it hurts.

She needs someone who knows how to train a dog. That’s not me, I’ve come to realize.

She needs help with not jumping up on people, not climbing on laps, not chasing kitties. I’ve tried everything I know, but I’ve failed. I don’t know what I’m doing.

She’s such an awesome dog and I know with the right person she will be AMAZING. She’s smart, so so so beautiful and just the biggest love bug. But she deserves someone who knows how to help her.

We’ve got a big house and fenced yard. One other dog (little Boston Terrier) and two cats. The animals are not restricted from anywhere in the house.

Cute Ember Barkette Story:

The first time we gave her a bath, I’d just gotten her all soaped up and my husband opened the door to the bathroom we were in. She saw her opportunity and took it. We both chased her through the house yelling, “Ember nooooooooooooo!” Down the stairs, all around the living area, back up the stairs, soap flying everywhere. It was something out of a funny movie.

Why is Ember Barkette Being Rehomed?

Ember needs someone who has the skills and patience to teach her how to be the awesome dog I know she can be.

I wouldn’t want her to go with someone who doesn’t own their own home. Stability is important, and renters are too risky in my opinion. A fenced back yard is essential.

The family probably shouldn’t have small children. Ember is large and doesn’t know her own strength.

We aren’t rehoming Ember because we don’t love her. We’re rehoming her because we DO love her. We aren’t the right people for her. We’re not physically able to give her what she needs.
