Meet Abbey! This gorgeous Chocolate Labrador Retriever Pitbull mix dog is looking for a very special forever home. Located near Atlanta in Dalton GA, Abbey is in exceptional health. She is fixed, up to date on her shots, and very well behaved and affectionate.

Abbey needs a home where she can be the only pet. She would love to find a home with a large, securely fenced yard to play in, and some attentive dog lovers to cherish her. She is best suited for families with children older than 8.

Prey driven with squirrels and possum. Never caught squirrels, but will tree possum and if caught, will not kill, but will bring her trophies to the door. Does not like small dogs or cats.

We feed her about two cups an evening only. Grain free food from Costco. We were feeding her twice a day and she ballooned up from 55-60 lbs to 78 lbs and we are working to get we weight down to 60-65, which is a healthier weight.

Abbey’s Personality

Friendly towards humans, loves kids who know how to treat her. She loves to be loved. Belly rubs are her favorite. She loves men. No food aggression. She feels cats and small dogs are something to chase and doesn’t understand that the yippee dogs are more scared of her. She is generally eager to please and wants to make her people happy. If you aren’t petting her, she is happy to lay down or wander around doing her own thing. She is not one who has to be constantly under foot.

She does have her prey issues, but over-all, she is a good girl who would be happy to have a big fenced in yard, Land, or someone who is able to take her on long walks.

Why is Abbey Being Rehomed?

We have a small 4 lb dog we have to keep separate from her. She really needs a place to run and we can’t leave her out in our back yard for long or she will jump our 4 ft fence when she sees something she wants on the other side. Because she is part pit, no one wants her.

Abbey needs a home with dog lovers who will lover her the way she loves them – unconditionally and with all their hearts! She is a precious girl who simply needs to be in an only pet situation without small children. She enjoys playing and would really appreciate a large, securely fenced yard. She thrives on being with people, so you should have enough time to give her the companionship she needs and the activity that will help keep her healthy and happy.
