Meet Bailey, German Shepherd Yellow Labrador Retriever Mix Dog For Adoption in Fredericton New Brunswick

Bailey is one of the sweetest large breed dogs you will ever meet. This German Sheprador for adoption in Fredericton NB has been spayed, fully vaccinated, micro-chipped and is house broken. Bailey is 6 years old and weighs 85 pounds. She is so good with children and people of all ages. She combines the best qualities of the German Shepherd and the Yellow Labrador Retriever.

Bailey had a rough start in life; her first owner chained her to a tree outside, and she still had the marks around her neck when she found her forever family. Life has played a mean trick on Bailey’s family and they have to move to a new home through no fault of their own whatsoever. After months of looking for dog-friendly accommodations, her family have had to make the extremely difficult decision to rehome Bailey.

Bailey’s ideal home is a family, couple or single who will love her as much as she loves them. She is so easy to love, and she gives so much more than she receives. She would appreciate a large, fenced yard, and a home with some structure and routine. She is just fine with respectful kids, but please don’t poke her or pull her tail. Regardless of the dog, small children should always be supervised (mostly for the dog’s sake!).

Bailey’s owners would love to be able to stay in touch with her, but only if that is OK with you.

If you have room in your heart and home for this amazing Yellow Lab German Shepherd Mix (German Sheprador), please offer Bailey a home today.

Bailey’s Personality

Bailey absolutely loves kids, we have three and she loves to play ( rope tug being her favourite) she is a bit tricky when going on her walks cause she pulls a lot but we discovered it’s much easier when she has a harness on instead of just a leash.

She is a little bit of a lazy dog but also loves running around outside ( in any weather especially snow) Bailey isn’t a “barker” with one exception, when someone comes to the door, she is a bit timid when new people come around but warms up in about 1 minute lol

We have never had many issues with her at all and don’t know too awful much about where she was before we got her, we do know that she was rescued from a home where she was left outside chained to a tree and even still had the marks on her neck from the large chain, she was about two when we got her, she is terrified of garbage bags and whines when you open an oven door ( still can’t quite figure that one out) we have had her fixed and she has received all her needles

We know Bailey is good and patient ( and protective) with kids of all ages ( our youngest was 1 when we got her) we are just very unsure about her around other dogs as any time we are outside she barks so aggressively at other dogs ( oddly she only does this when she is in the yard and leashed, when we go for walks she doesn’t bother other dogs and if we are all outside and she is not leashed she doesn’t bother with dogs that walk by) we don’t really have any friends or family with dogs so she’s never actually been introduced to one.

Potential issues with other dogs – Bailey has never been around other dogs and we are unsure how she might behave

Why is Bailey Being Rehomed?

We rescued Bailey 5 years ago and about a week ago the owner of the home we are renting has decided to sell so we have to find a new place. We have searched everywhere in this city for a dog friendly place and have had absolutely no luck ( even with amazing references from landlord that clearly shows she is not a destructive dog in any way.

We are broken over the thought of losing Bailey but the last thing we want to do is run out of time and end up having to just give her away to someone we know nothing about. We have tried talking with friends and family to see if someone will take her in but that has also ( unfortunately) gotten us anywhere.
