Lucia (l) and jax (r)

Rollinsford, New Hampshire – What’s even cuter than a Boston Terrier and French Bulldog mixed together? Two of them!

Jax and Lucia are an incredibly adorable, bonded pair of Frenchtons. They are a boy and girl, littermates who have been together since birth. They are just 6 years old, very healthy, neutered/spayed and up to date on their shots. Both dogs are house trained and wonderful companions.

There is never a dull moment when you own a pair of Frenchtons! They are like small, furry clowns, constantly delighting you with their antics. They are very sweet, affectionate and cuddly, but also love to wrestle and do other fun dog stuff.  They are a perennial ray of canine sunshine – it’s very hard to have a bad day with them around.

Jax is the male. He weighs 30 pounds and has a coat. He is described as very smart, a little bit self-involved (at least for a dog), fun loving and athletic, and very much an Alpha dog. He is good with most dogs, and older, respectful children.

Lucia is smaller at 22 pounds. She very much considers herself to be a lap dog. She is very loving and kind. She loves children of all ages and sizes, and gets along very well with other dogs.

NEITHER DOG IS GOOD WITH CATS!!!

The owners, a married couple, are so devastated to have to find a good home for Jax and Lucia. Unfortunately, as they have started a family, it has become clear that Jax cannot be trusted around small children. It is not that he is aggressive, but that when he is startled, he will growl. With a couple of toddlers and a baby on the way, this is not a good situation – either for Jax, or for the family.

They are dearly hoping to find Jax and Lucia a home together, since they have been bonded since birth. It would be a shame to separate them as they love each other very much. A loving adults-only home would be ideal for this pair, or a home with teenaged kids.

Jax and Lucia have a good bit of energy that they like to burn off running and wrestling, so homeowners with a securely fenced yard are what they need. These dogs are very people-oriented, so they need owners with lots of time to spend with them. They love to go for walks and are very good on a leash. They have also undergone obedience training.

Reason For Rehoming

My wife and I got Jax and Lucia around the same time about 7 years ago before I had Kids. We got them both at 8 weeks old. We now have a 4 years, 3 year old and a 6 old child. My wife works from home and is very overwhelmed. Like I said in the prior question, Jax has always been a little anxious but my wife has lost trust in him with the kids. This is very hard for me as he is one of my best friends but I am trying to do what is right for me and my family.

Do I ever think Jax would bite my kids, No but I could never live with myself if something happened. If my kids were older, this would be a different story. The only reason I would want to re home Lucia is the fact that her and Jax are best friends and it breaks my heart to do this never mind split them up. I am looking for any help/suggestions you can give me.
