Sweet Brown Tabby Cat Adopt Trenton TN

Sweet brown tabby cat adopt trenton tn

Meet “Freecat”, a Brown Tabby Cat for Adoption in Trenton TN.

Looking for a sweet female Brown Tabby Cat for adoption in Trenton Tennessee and area? Just 4 to 7 years old and weighing 7.5 Pounds, this lovely Brown Tabby Cat has been Litter Trained. “Freecat” is good with adults.

Freecat’s owners callously left her behind when they sold their house and moved. She remained at “her house”, which is why her foster caretaker named her as he did. She “came free with the house”.

As much as he would like to give her an indoor home, his family have 4 cats of their own, and Freecat immediately goes on the offensive whenever she spots one of them. It’s easy to understand her logic – you would probably feel the same way to find that your family members were replaced with strangers and 4 cats.

She is currently being fed and given some companionship by her foster caretaker. She has a comfy bed on the outdoor porch, and is given ample food and clean water to drink. He also took her to the vet for a checkup. The vet believes that she has been spayed, and is in good health. Freecat would be a wonderful companion for someone who does not have other pets. She loves to climb up into your lap for a cuddle session, purring up a storm.

Her foster is dearly hoping to find a wonderful new home for Freecat with owners who will cherish her and keep Freecat safe, happy, and healthy. He is willing to deliver her to a good home anywhere within a several hours drive of Trenton, Tennessee

If you have room in your heart and home for Freecat, please complete our online meeting request form. Once received, our Tennessee Cat Rehoming team will ask the foster to contact you to discuss adopting this sweet and very deserving cat. Restore Freecat’s faith in humanity – adopt her today!

All About “Freecat” – Brown Tabby Cat For Adoption in Trenton TN

Name of Pet: “Freecat”
Location: Trenton TN,, 38382
Type of Pet: Cat
Breed of Pet: Brown Tabby
Color / Coat Type: Shorthair Tortoiseshell / Tabby(?)
Age of Pet: Unknown/Adult
Size of Pet: 7.5 Pounds
Health Problems: Yes – Currently Treating
“Freecat” was abandoned by her previous owner and is a neighborhood stray. She is allergic to local pollen that irritates the skin over her entire body. In places where she can reach to lick or scratch at the irritation, she has caused open wounds and scabs. She was taken to a vet on 10/25/21 and administered Dewormer as a precaution, a Depo Medrol injection, and Convenia 1-20# for her allergies. She was screened for fleas and ringworm and currently has neither.
We have helped her through these allergies once before and it took a few weeks for her to fully recover. This year is significantly worse than the last and we are concerned for her health if she continues to live outside as a stray.
We do not currently know if she has been fully vaccinated. We assume that she has been spayed because we have not witnessed her go into heat. If necessary, I am willing and able to support the cost of vaccinations required to rehome her.
Behavior Issues: Yes
She is friendly to adults and is litterbox trained, but will generally behave aggressively towards other cats. We are not sure how she feels about children and dogs.
Her first visit to a vet was over a year ago, and they had no issues. However, during her second trip to the vet on 10/25/21 she became aggressive when she was administered her injections and attacked me as I held her for the vet. Immediately before receiving her shots, she was docile and even purred during most of the visit. She did not bite hard enough to draw blood, but it did leave a mark. We had also trimmed her nails earlier during the visit, but she was still able to draw blood by scratching me when she became upset.
We are unsure if this experience will make her aggressive during future veterinary appointments and we advise caution.
Upon returning home from the vet she showed no signs of aggression and was immediately friendly to me as if nothing happened.
Gets along with: Adults
Pet is: Litter Trained
Food: Other
We have been feeding her Purina Indoor dry food. She does not have a set schedule for feeding. We leave her food and water bowl full so she may eat when she becomes hungry. We refill the bowl in the mornings, and sometimes before bed depending on how much she had eaten that day. She doesn’t seem to have any dietary needs or restrictions and is quite healthy besides her allergic reactions. Some families in the neighborhood had been leaving food out for her before we took her in on 10/24/21, but we are unsure what brands they were using.

“Freecat”‘s Personality

She is friendly towards adults and will approach those that call out to her. The first day I met her she approached me and sat in my lap to be pet almost unprompted. She is a vocal cat and will meow for attention. Extremely affectionate and will stand or sit in your lap. At times when she was in my lap and I was not actively petting her, she would place her front paws up on my chest and press her head affectionately to my face to get my attention.
She has engaged in playful activities when provided a toy but seemed to only express interest in the toy if it was tossed about or dragged across the floor so she could chase it.
The only instances of aggression or negative behavior that we have witnessed from her have been during her veterinary appointment and her interactions with other cats. She has attempted to attack one of my sister’s cats on sight. We think she would be ideal for a single-pet home, as we are unsure how she would react to dogs or other animals.

You may call, text, or email me to get in touch. If I do not answer the phone for some reason please feel free to text me to let me know a good time to call back. I check my email daily, sometimes several times a day, and can guarantee fast correspondence from that account. I have my own vehicle and am willing to help transport Freecat if needed. I currently live in Trenton, which is about a 45 minute drive from Jackson or a 2 hour drive from Memphis. I am willing and able to drive for a total of 8 hours in one day, so I do not mind if the location is a bit farther as long as Freecat will be safe and happy. We are also prepared to hold onto her until she has recovered a bit from her condition. She currently has some open wounds from scratching and licking at her irritated areas and we understand if you are not able to take care of her until she is feeling better.

Why is “Freecat” Being Rehomed?

“Freecat” belonged to the previous owner of the house we currently live in. We don’t know what happened to the previous owner or why they could not rehome her. We have nicknamed her Freecat as if she was a bonus that came with the home after purchasing it. We are not able to bring her into our home permanently because of her disposition towards other cats. My sister, who owns the home, already has two of her own. I brought two more when I moved in, for a total of four household cats at present. We feel it is already relatively crowded for the four cats we already own and cannot provide permanent residence to a stray, especially since she reacts aggressively to other cats. She is beloved by the local neighborhood, but no one in the immediate area is prepared to take care of her. She is already domesticated and litterbox trained, and we would like to find her a new family to love her since she is so friendly to adults. We live in a neighborhood within close proximity to an elementary school, so it is possible that she has interacted with children before, but we cannot verify for certain that she is friendly towards children.
