Momo is a dilute tabby tortoiseshell (torbie) cat for adoption in la jolla ca

Meet Momo, a Tabby Tortoiseshell (Torbie) Cat for adoption by owner in La Jolla CA. This shy little cat is 10 years old and weighs 10 pounds. Mom has been fixed, fully vaccinated and litter-box-trained. She will be rehomed with all her supplies and accessories – all you need to add is love and a quiet home in which she will be cherished and feel safe and happy.

Momo is one of those cats that just wants to be loved by one special cat lover. She comes across as very shy and skittish when you first meet her, and she might even growl and lash out at you if you try to befriend her before she has decided whether you are friend, or foe. That said, giving her the time and space she needs to adjust to her home and the new owner will be rewarded with a sweet little cat that will love you, trust you, and become your best friend. She is very affectionate with her person and loves to cuddle, and have her belly and head scratched.

Momo’s owner is having to rehome Momo due to having started a family. Momo is miserable with small children around and will strike out at the newly mobile child in the home. Mom is expecting another baby in the New Year, and hopes to find Momo the home she deserves before then. If you are a single cat lover looking for a lovely little cat that will become a wonderful companion once she gets used to you, please offer Momo her forever home today.

Momo’s Personality

Aside from the behavioral issues described above, Momo is an indoor-outdoor cat, who thrives with the ability to spend her days running around outside, and her nights snuggling up on our bed or in a dark closet. Like many cats, Momo is independent and aloof at times, and at other times will follow us around the house. She is fairly vocal, and responds verbally when we “talk” to her. Momo is skittish with loud noises and sudden movements, and does not like anyone to engage with her, except for her “person” in our household. She is very affectionate with me, and loves to cuddle, and have her belly and head scratched.

We are very motivated to try and find the right home for Momo without surrendering her to a shelter. She would do well in a quiet home with no children and no other pets, with a very calm female adult owner that is familiar with how to be around cats.

Why is Momo Being Rehomed?

We have had Momo evaluated by an animal behaviorist and with a prescription for Gabapentin and plenty of space for her to roam, we have been able to live harmoniously with her for the last 10 years. However, our child has gotten to an age where he wants to play with Momo, and she has hissed and swatted at him. We have another baby on the way, and we see the writing on the wall. Momo needs a quiet home with an experienced, committed, and empathetic cat person. She would do best in a quite home without children or other pets, and with only 1-2 adults (preferably females – she is wary of male energy). Ideally her new home would provide a safe outdoor space for her to roam.

Thank you for your interest in this deserving Tabby Tortoiseshell (Torbie) Cat for adoption in CA.
