Blue nosed pitbull adoption san diego ca

Meet Cali, a Blue Nose Pitbull dog for adoption by owner in San Diego California.

Have you been dreaming of owning a Blue-Nosed American Pit Bull Terrier (Pitbull)? Cali the Pitbull is sure to tick all of the boxes on your doggie wish list. This stunningly beautiful 4 year old dog is healthy, fixed, fully vaccinated, micro-chipped, crate trained, house-broken, leash trained, and even obedience-trained. She is a “ready to love” dog looking for the right new home in which to be adored.

Cali has a VERY generous nature. She brings presents to her owners constantly, whether it be one of her toys, one of your shoes, something to wear, or whatever she can find. It’s extremely cute behavior; she wants nothing more than to make you happy. She is a sweet and goofy dog. with a bright smile and big brown eyes.

Cali’s owners are very sad that they need to find her a new home. They love her dearly, and want her to be safe, happy and stress-free in a home where she can be herself. Living in the city seems to make Cali feel agitated and protective of her people and her home. Like most dogs, Cali wants owners who follow a daily routine so that Cali knows what is going to happen next in her day.

I wuv you, dad!

She needs to be carefully introduced to strangers to make sure they are not a threat to her owners. It’s likely that she had some abuse and/or neglect early in her life, and she is coping the best she can. We feel that her ideal home with be with owners who live in the country, or who have a very large and secluded property. Cali needs a home with adults only, although teenagers would be OK so long as they let Cali meet their friends on her terms and time-frame. Cali will make an amazing addition to the right home, She will be your best friend, cuddle-buddy, and personal protector.

If you have room in your heart and home for Cali the Blue Nosed American Pit Bull Terrier, please reach out and offer her a home today. She can’t wait to meet you and show you the true meaning of unconditional love. Adopt Cali today!

Cali has leash aggression. Walking her when there are no distractions is a joy… however, if a bike, skateboard, motorcycle, baby rollers goes by she lunges and barks which sounds super scary – we correct her and then she goes on about the walk like nothing happened. She will sometimes lunge at people on our walks and sometimes not. Very unpredictable. People often reach out to pet her when she is just sitting in a calm state, she must see it as a sign of aggression because she lunges at them.

Cali loves to fetch, but bringing it back..? Not so much!

We quit taking her to the park because she scratched a kid (they said it was a bite – went to urgent care – Cali got 10 day quarantine, they sued us and our insurance settled). When we first started going to park we played ball and she was having the time of her life. Dogs would come in and there were no issues. However, when dogs would bark at each other and play like they do, Cali thinks it’s a fight and jumps in to stop it. She has never instigated a fight but she will not back down. Our trainer said she never learned how to meet dogs because she goes right up in their face which if the other dog isn’t passive is a problem. We are not sure she ever really learned to play with people or dogs.

Cali’s Personality

Cali is THE BEST house dog. She is house trained. If you keep her exercised, she does not destroy anything. She likes to bring you something when you come home … usually my shoes, dirty sock or stuffed animal.

Cali is a sweet girl once she knows you. When people come to the house, we have Cali on a leash and we tell them to ignore her COMPLETELY. Once we know she is calmed down we let her wander around and eventually she makes friends with our guests and we have to do that no matter how many times they come over.

She is SUPER smart. She knows all her commands. She is not treat motivated at all. She likes to chew on her Nylo bone. She is pretty gentle with her stuffed animals and still has the one we gave her when we met her. She likes to play catch but isn’t always good about dropping the ball when she comes back … she likes us to chase her to get the ball which we don’t do.

She loves to hang out on the couch with us, snuggles her Dad mainly, but follows me all around.

She is very protective of her home and people.

Why is Cali Being Rehomed?

We rescued Cali 2 years ago after our Bruno passed away from heart failure. We were told she was being rehomed because she and the other dog at the house started fighting. She had gone to the vet twice. We wanted a dog that was good with kids, dogs and car rides. We were told she was good with kids, dogs and cars. That is not the case at all. She was never walked or socialized as a puppy, only played in backyard. Lived with a very large Pitbull, unneutered, that they ended up keeping separated.

We love our girl and have spent over $10k in training with various trainers, board and trains, etc. We have tried all types of collars: martingale, prong, e-collar, gentle lead. We created a manual dog treadmill for her to run on. We have considered rehoming her several times over the last two years but we don’t like to give up and we love her so much. We just aren’t sure she is living her best life here and that we may not be the best parents for her. She needs structure and routine to curb her controlling nature (at least that is what the trainers tell us). We don’t live that type of life.
