Varjak is a handsome older dog who, at the ripe young age of 9, is looking for a quiet home with a retired single or couple of dog lovers looking for just one special dog to cherish. Varjak has been fixed, fully vaccinated, housebroken and crate trained. This 70 pound dog is easy to care for - he's pretty low-key and loves to laze around for the most part. He will get up and play if you cncourage him, and enjoys the occasional romp in the back yard. He's definitely no longer at the "crazy puppy phase" of his life - he's at the "things are starting to ache a bit" phase, where he doesn't require lots of exercise, and enjoys a quiet routine with owners who can give him lots of tummy rubs. Speaking of tummies, Varjak has one health issue that is well controlled on a medication he takes every second day. It's just like the IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) that we humans can suffer from. Sticking with a low-ingredient dog food and taking his every-second-day medication keeps him feeling good. Varjak's owners love him to bits, but realize that their home, with small children and plenty of associated chaos, is just not Varjak's "happy place" any more. He can be grumpy with the kids and is clearly not a happy boy when there's too much going on in the house (which is most of the time). His owners are hoping to find a home that matches Varjak's stage in life. A quiet home with just one or two older dog lovers who follow a daily routine and can make him feel comfortable, safe and at ease. Varjak is a great companion, and caring for him is a joy.
