Marilyn’s owners are very sad to have to rehome their cherished cat. Unfortunately, Marilyn is miserable in their home. They have a small child and a dog, with another child on the way. Marilyn is stressed because of the activity in the home and really needs a home with just one special cat lover who can give her lots of lap time and cuddles. Marilyn clearly needs a more calm environment where she doesn’t feel scared all the time.

Marilyn’s Personality

Very timid at first, cautious, but as soon as you sit down anywhere she normally rushes out and sits on your lap asking for scratches, just very affectionate. She has been extremely sweet with everyone in our house, never once purposely scratched or shown any aggression. The day I brought home our baby she just laid on my chest right next to my daughter.

Why is Marilyn Being Rehomed?

She’s an incredibly sweet cat and when we first adopted her when she was 6 she was the only pet and my husband and I were the only people in the house. We have since gotten a dog, have a baby with another on the way, and moved states. She’s very timid of lots of movement and loud noises and since we’ve moved she rarely comes out of her little area. She started to stress shed the fur on her legs and just seems generally more miserable. I feel terrible because all she wants to do is snuggle in someone’s lap all day and watch the birds from the window. But with all the chaos in our house, I don’t have the time to be able to sit with just her. She has been extremely tolerant and loving with our first baby, but now that the baby is a toddler and there’s more going on, she just rarely comes out of her box on the second level of the house.
