Discover the Delightful Tale of Benji: The Petite, Short-Haired, White Cat Up for Adoption in Avon, Indiana

Meet the lovely Benji, a petite, short-haired, white cat who is ready to be welcomed into a new and loving home. Benji is a 2-year-old female cat, currently residing in Avon, Indiana (46123). She’s spayed, in excellent health, and up to date on her vaccinations.

Benji is a spirited and playful little character who has no problem fitting into the world of humans. Despite being a cat, she seems to think she can eat like her human counterparts! One needs to be cautious about leaving food within her reach, especially if it’s wrapped in plastic. This adventurous kitty once had a mishap with a bag of pepperoni around Thanksgiving, resulting in a visit to the emergency vet. Since then, she’s been doing great, but it’s important to remember not to overfeed her as she’s a small cat and may not digest large meals well.

Benji is comfortable around other cats, though her compatibility with dogs and children is unknown. She’s house trained and comes with a host of accessories, including a cat backpack, bed, hairball remedy paste, a bottle of water additive for dental care, a cat pheromone diffuser, and of course, her favorite toys.

Our Brave and Bouncy Benji

Benji’s personality is a blend of fearless adventurer and loving companion. Whether she’s hunting outside or snuggling up next to you for a nap, she’s always full of life, almost puppy-like in her zest. She loves chasing small bouncy balls, wrestling with her floppy fish toys, and exploring the great outdoors. Despite her misadventures with food, she’s a fan of cat treats and cat food.

Benji is also harness and leash-trained and enjoys accompanying her owners on hiking trips. With time and patience, she’s sure to become even more comfortable with the harness.

The Little Cat with a Big Heart

There are countless heartwarming stories about our brave Benji. From her hilarious mango-eating exploits as a kitten to the time she stood her ground against a large dog in the neighborhood, her spirit and personality are truly one-of-a-kind.

A New Home for Benji

Unfortunately, due to plans to relocate to Thailand in the next two years, we’re unable to take Benji with us. The move involves a lot of paperwork, fees, long airplane travels, and even a 30-day quarantine period for pets. Additionally, the local fauna in Thailand can pose a threat to outdoor pets like Benji.

So, we’re looking for a loving home for her. Ideally, this home would have other cats, some outdoor space for Benji to explore, and someone with a big heart and experience with cats. If you think you could be that person and you live within an hour’s drive from Avon, we’d love to hear from you.

For a glimpse into Benji’s life, you can check out our YouTube videos where we’ve been learning video editing and capturing Benji’s and our other cat’s antics.

Don’t miss the chance to welcome this adventurous, loving cat into your family. Get in touch today and let the heartwarming tale of Benji continue in your home!

Benji’s Personality

Benji likes to be an outside and inside cat. She is very active and playful, almost like a puppy. She is very adventurous and the bravest cat we have ever met. She likes to run and hunt outside. She also likes to catnap and cuddle next to people. She likes to sleep on the end of my bed at night or whenever I need to work on my laptop.

Benji’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Any toys she can chase after like small bouncy balls. She likes to wrestle her floppy fish toys. Likes being outdoors and hunting. She also likes catnapping next to people. She will almost eat everything so just need to make sure she sticks to cat food and treats. We have taken her to go hiking sometimes and she is able to walk on leash. However, she is still not used to putting on the harness. We don’t want to force her to walk on leash all the time because of this. Perhaps, if we had more time then she would be more comfortable.

Cute Benji Story:

My mom was eating a mango once when Benji was a kitten. After my mom got to the mango seed, Benji jumped on her lap and started licking the rest of the mango off of the seed. We had never heard of cats eating mango before and it was hilarious to watch her.
One time someone’s large dog got loose in the neighborhood. Our backyard has a chain fence along it. Benji was already in our backyard at the time. When my dad opened the back door, he saw the large dog on the outside of our fence barking. He also saw Benji trying to stare the dog down. My dad called us over to come see. The dog then started to running along the fence back towards its owner and Benji ran along with the dog. I went over to Benji and she wouldn’t move and kept staring at the large dog. It was like she was a tiny guard dog! I had to pick her up and move her inside to help her relax.

Why is Benji Being Rehomed?

We are planning to move to Thailand permanently in less than 2 years to spend more time with my dad and family there. My dad is recovering from cancer surgery last year that was successful. We convinced him to retire there and focus on his health first. My dad and mom found a house there but it is small and has no backyard. There’s a lot of paperwork and fees involved in importing a pet and they will have to go under quarantine for at least 30 days after all the airplane travel. Also, lizards and snakes are more common in Thailand. Cats and other outdoor pets that didn’t grow up there, unfortunately, don’t survive long.

Benji’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Just looking for someone to give a lot of love to Benji and has experience with cats. It would be nice if they have some outdoor space so that Benji can be outside. If they have cats it would be nice if they know how to introduce cats to each other. If they have a playful cat then maybe Benji could have new friend to play with.

We have never lost her before. If she doesn’t come back inside right away when we call her it’s most likely because she found a nice spot to catnap. She is very motivated by food which helps make her more trainable. I am willing to travel around an hour away from Avon if someone definitely wants Benji. I am used to going as far as Bloomington because my sister goes to IU Bloomington. I have YouTube videos of Benji and our other cat when I was trying to learn how a video editing software works here:
