Meet Daisy – Pre-Loved Jack Russell Terrier dog For Adoption by Owner in Philadelphia PA
Hello. My name is Daisy—and before you scroll past, you should know one very important thing about me: I love with my whole heart. Not in a casual, polite way. I mean the full-body, lean-in, curl-up-beside-you, “where have you been all my life?” kind of love. The kind that sneaks up on you and makes you wonder how your couch ever survived without a small, warm Jack Russell tucked into its corner.

I’m the sort of girl who believes every day should start with a good sniff of the world and end with a cuddle. Walks are my jam—especially the kind where I can take my time investigating all the fascinating messages left behind by squirrels, other dogs, and whatever mysterious creature passed through earlier. When we’re home, I’m happiest near my people, preferably touching them in some way so I don’t forget they’re real. A paw on your leg. My head on your knee. Full-body snuggle mode activated.
I’m affectionate, loyal, and just a little bit funny. For example: when my people first adopted me, they thought I was broken because I didn’t bark. Not once. Not a peep. Then came my first vet visit, where I heard other dogs barking and thought, Oh… that’s what we’re doing now? I joined in immediately. The vet scolded my humans about my “barking problem,” which they found hilarious, since up until that moment they weren’t even sure I knew how. I like to keep people guessing.
I warm up to humans instantly—friends, strangers, delivery people, you name it. Other dogs? I’m a little more “let’s feel this out first,” but once I know we’re cool, we’re cool. I love stuffed toys, cozy beds, sweaters, and being included in whatever you’re doing, even if that activity is just existing quietly together.
I should tell you something important, though, because honesty matters in real love stories. I get lonely when I’m left by myself. I miss my person deeply, and sometimes that sadness comes out as crying or howling. It’s not because I’m naughty or dramatic—it’s because I love hard. I was adopted by a wonderful couple, and when one of them passed away, everything changed.
Now my remaining human has to leave the house sometimes, and it breaks both our hearts knowing I’m struggling alone. I do much better when there are other dogs around or when someone is home most of the time. I don’t need perfection—I just need company and understanding.
So here I am, doing the bravest thing I know how to do: trusting that somewhere out there is a family who will love me as deeply as I love them. A home where I’ll be safe, cherished, included, and never made to feel like I’m “too much.” I promise to repay you with devotion, laughter, warm cuddles, and the quiet comfort of a dog who truly knows she belongs.
If you feel that little tug in your chest right now—the one that says, “I think this dog might be my dog”—I hope you’ll reach out and apply to adopt me. I’m ready to meet you. I’m ready for my next chapter. And I can’t wait to show you just how much love fits into a 22-pound Jack Russell named Daisy. 🌼

Daisy’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?
Loves to walk, sniff, play with her stuffed toys, cuddle with her human friends.
Cute Daisy Story:
After we adopted her we were puzzled because she didn’t make a sound. That changed at her first vet visit, when she started barking after hearing other dogs.
The vet admonished us: “You have to control your dog’s barking.” We found that hilarious, since we had never heard her make a peep before.
Why is Daisy Being Rehomed?
Daisy has isolation anxiety and cries and howls if she is left alone. She was adopted by me and my late wife, who died in 2024. I am now single and have to leave the house at times with no one to watch her.
I think she would be better in a family with other dogs (I’m told she doesn’t cry if left alone with other dogs) or where there is almost always someone home.
Daisy’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:
A family that will love her as much as we do.
