Meet Nyx – Pre-Loved German Sheperd Mixed dog For Adoption by Owner in Bellevue WA

Despite having health issues, Nyx remains positive and cheerful. His smile is so contagious that he smiles on command when people ask him, “who’s a pretty boy?”

Nyx’s owners are sad to have to rehome him, but they have no choice due to circumstances beyond their control. They hope to find the right family for Nyx, where he will be loved unconditionally and kept safe, happy, healthy, and well-cared-for. If you have room in your heart and home for Nyx, please offer him a loving, forever home.

Nyx has some allergies, and he requires Cytopoint injections, medicated shampoo, special food, and topicals. He also has a behavior issue of getting into trash and food if left out. Nyx is up-to-date on vaccinations and gets along well with cats, dogs, and children. He is housebroken, but not crate trained.

Nyx loves balls, ropes, goat horns, elk antlers, hikes, and adventures. Unfortunately, he cannot have treats, but kibbles and wet food work well as treats. Nyx is a sweet and loving dog who craves attention and loves to please. He needs a family with enough resources and time to take care of his needs as a working dog. German Shepherds have high energy levels, and Nyx is no exception.

If you are interested in adopting Nyx, please fill out the online meeting request form. There is a $75 adoption/rehoming fee, and supplies and veterinary records are included. For any questions about Nyx, please contact our dog rehoming team at [email protected].

Nyx’s Personality

Nyx is a very sweet and loving dog. He has a deep desire for attention and to please those who give it to him. Nyx is more friendly with people than he is with other animals. When he gets excited, he will give big smiles. He loves to play ball and other fun dog games.

Nyx’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

He loves balls and ropes toys. He also likes goat horns or elk antlers. Nyx also enjoys hikes and adventures in areas where he can be off leash, and he recalls very well. Sadly, treats are not an option for Nyx, as he requires medicated food. Luckily the kibbles work well as treats. The wet food also works great as a special dinner or as a way to form a meatball around any pills he needs to take.

Cute Nyx Story:

Nyx likes to curl up into a little ball sometimes when he sleeps. As in a surprisingly small ball for such a large dog. He will lay in beds and on pillows that are far too small for him and manage to get his whole body onto the surface. We used to have and armchair that he would curl up in. One day, somehow, he managed to curl up in it in a manner that left him stuck when he tried to leave. And the poor baby was so still and calm that I did not realize he was stuck until it was time for walks and he looked at me and just struggled feebly. Luckily, he was unharmed in the process, but it did take quite a bit of fenagling to get him free. Needless to say, the chair did not stay long.

Why is Nyx Being Rehomed?

His medications, food, soaps, and surprise vet visits are quite expensive, and recently everything else has gotten a lot more expensive. I am afraid that I can no longer provide an adequate level of care for Nyx and myself at the same time.

Nyx’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Nyx needs a family with enough resources to care for a dog that comes with the bills that he does. They also need the time to take care of his needs as a working dog. German shepherds have a lot of energy and a need for some outlet, and though Nyx is a mix, he displays this need greatly.

Nyx is a great dog, and he deserves a loving home that can provide for all of his needs. He will gladly repay it all in love.
