 Meet Duke – Pre-Loved XXL Bulldog  Mix For Adoption by Owner in Edmonton AB

Looking for a 90 pound lap dog? Look no further than Duke! Duke is a Male XXL English American Bulldog mix dog for adoption to a very loving home in or near Edmonton, Alberta.

This adorable dog is about the most loveable lug you will find. He is so sweet, almost bashful, and absolutely loves children. He is good with people of all ages and sizes, and gets along well with cats. He would be fine with dog-friendly dogs, although he might be a bit timid on first meeting a canine friend.

Duke is what we consider to be a “ready to love” dog. At just 1 year old and weighing around 90 pounds, Duke is a healthy, well-behaved, housebroken and kid and cat-friendly dog. He will need to be neutered by his new owners, but will come equipped with some supplies and accessories, most notable: an “Elsa Doll” that he cherishes after “borrowing” it from his favourite little girl.

Duke is a tiny bit of a “diamond in the ruff”, as he will need some reinforcement on remembering things such as not jumping up to say Hello to his favourite people, and not pulling on the leash when out for a walk (this can likely be fixed by using a Halti lead). He is such a good natured dog, and will be the perfect family companion in no time.

Duke’s owner loves him very much. She has recently been overwhelmed with responsibility for her family after her husband deserted her and her two young girls. Moving to a small apartment was necessary in order to keep a roof over their heads, and it is no place for a 90 pound furry bundle of love and licks.

In addition, his owner will be seeking full time employment, and does not feel that it would be fair to Duke to spend every day all alone, waiting for his family to come home to him.

His favorite toy is his soccer ball. Human food is his favorite but he doesn’t get it very often.  Loves some sort of sauce on his dry dog food. He loves to sleep the afternoon away but also loves going for walks.

Cute Duke Story:

My two year-old daughter has Duke wrapped around her little finger. He adores her and has grown up with her. They are great buddies and he enjoys napping with her on the couch.

Why is Duke Being Rehomed?

I will need to get a full time job to support me and my two girls after my husband abandoned us.

We moved to an apartment that is a bit more affordable. Duke is too strong for me to walk and it’s not fair for him to spend all day in an apartment.

Duke’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Someone that is willing to spend time with him and train him – establish boundaries with him and he will thrive. Take him for walks and play with him. Duke needs love and care.
