Looking for an Australian Shepherd Chihuahua mix puppy for adoption in Charleston, SC? Skarl would love to be considered for the position of your cherished family companion.
Meet Skarl – The Sweetest Surprise You’ll Ever Snuggle
Some puppies are planned. Others just show up — like a tiny, fuzzy miracle wrapped in pure joy. That’s Skarl. Born quietly and unexpectedly to his mom, Grace (who had kept her secret well-hidden), Skarl arrived as a party of one. Just one puppy. One perfect little soul. And from the moment he opened his eyes, it was clear: this boy was special.

Now 10 months old, Skarl is the kind of pup who brings sunshine with him wherever he goes. He’s a mix of Australian Shepherd curiosity and Chihuahua charm — a fuzzy little comedian with expressive eyes, floppy ears, and a tail that wags like it’s powered by happiness itself. He zips through the house with full-throttle zoomies, then melts into your arms for a cozy nap like a teddy bear with a heartbeat.
His personality is equal parts bold explorer and gentle lovebug. He gets along beautifully with other dogs, has been raised around cats, and is wonderfully social with kids and guests. His favorite activities include chasing squeaky toys, following his mom around like a shadow, and sleeping wherever the comfiest pillow is — ideally one with a warm human attached.
While Skarl is thriving in his current home, his guardian recently moved into a smaller space already shared with two Chihuahuas. It’s clear that Skarl would blossom in a home with more room to play, more time for adventure, and more people (or pups) to love. Ideally, he could be adopted with his mama, Grace, but the right home for Skarl is simply one where he’ll be treasured every single day.
This happy little “only child” deserves a forever home full of laughter, belly rubs, and someone who sees him for the rare little gem he is.
A Note About Skarl’s Mom, Grace

Skarl’s mom, Grace, is also looking for a loving forever home. She’s a beautiful red merle Australian Shepherd with a calm, affectionate nature and a strong bond with her son. While they can absolutely be adopted separately, we would be thrilled to see them placed together if the right family comes along. If you’re open to a dynamic duo, Grace and Skarl would bring twice the love, laughter, and companionship into your life.
Apply to adopt Skarl and get ready for the sweetest kind of chaos — the kind that licks your nose and steals your heart. 🐶💛

Skarl loves chew toys, especially ones that squeak! He enjoys chasing small balls around the living room and playing tug with soft ropes. Most of all, he loves to follow his mom, Gracie, around and take naps near you or in a cozy bed.
Cute Skarl Story:
Skarl was a total surprise! I didn’t even know Gracie was pregnant until she delivered one tiny, perfect pup — just him. From day one, he’s had a special place in our hearts. Watching his personality emerge — from that wiggly little newborn to the bold, cuddly pup he is today — has been one of the sweetest experiences I’ve had with any puppy.
Why is Skarl Being Rehomed?
I recently moved into a smaller home with limited outdoor space and already share the space with two Chihuahuas. While this decision isn’t urgent, I truly want to find a home for Skarl (and ideally his mom Gracie too) where he’ll have more room to run and a family who has the time and energy to keep up with his needs and give him all the love he deserves.
Skarl’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:
Skarl needs a loving, attentive family who can provide structure, socialization, and lots of affection. A home with space to play and perhaps another friendly puppy would be a bonus. Ideally, I’d love for him to stay with his mom Gracie, but I’m open to the best possible fit. Most important is that he becomes a cherished member of the family.
I would love to stay in touch in whatever way feels comfortable for the new family — even just the occasional photo or update. I want to know that he’s happy and thriving in his new home.
Skarl is truly one of a kind — a happy accident that turned into a little miracle. He deserves a home filled with play, belly rubs, and love.
