Mandu’s Personality

Mandu is a gentle soul who loves lounging around during the day.

He knows exactly what he wants and he will ask you by meowing and leading you to what he wants.

He is extremely food motivated and he will do anything to get to his treats.

He will do everything to take care of you – he knows when you are feeling depressed and will come up to you and ask you how you are doing.

Mandu’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

He loves any kind of food and treats and he’ll gobble them up like a vacuum.

He likes mouse- and fish-shaped plushies since he likes kicking them after receiving a hefty amount of butt taps.

He likes cardboard scratching boards and he will decimate them in a month.

He likes taking naps in my closet where there’s a bed, he also likes sleeping on my chair.

Cute Mandu Story:

I met Mandu at the Toronto Humane Society. He was this slightly chubby cat looking quite distraught from all the people and other cats. When I was introduced to him, I reached out to him and he immediately licked my hand and rested his head in my hand. And since then, I’ve had him for the last 5 years.

Some funny story is that I was making some pancakes for breakfast, and when I went to use the washroom, I heard a “thud” coming from the kitchen. I looked and he had stolen a layer of pancake from the table.

Why is Mandu Being Rehomed?

I am a Korean resident. That means I am conscripted to mandatory military service. Therefore, I am forced to leave Canada and I cannot take him back home with me as I do not have the support from my family for that decision.

So, I am looking to rehome him by the end of November when I am forced to leave Canada, and I’m exploring all option to rehoming him and leaving the option of surrendering him to the very end.

Mandu’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

The adoptive family / home should be somewhat quiet, easy-going energy.

Ideally, the family does not have a dog – unless the dog is absolutely trained not to chase cats, and the owners have experience socialising cats to dogs.

I have no idea if Mandu is okay with other adult cats as he only lived with me. If the owners know how to socialise cats, then he should be fine with that as well.

The adoptive family should be able to shower him with love and affection when he asks you for them.

Thank you very much for considering him into your program and to those who are interested, thank you very much for giving my old man a second chance.

I am extremely regretful that I cannot take him everywhere given my situation, but I guarantee that he will be an absolute goofball of a cat when he opens up fully to you.

Once I leave Canada, the only way you will be able to reach me is via email: [email protected]
