Poor little Pete! Ostracized by the other cats in his home, and “barely tolerated” by the dogs, this very affectionate and sociable little cat is very lonely at the moment. His Mom loves him a lot, but there are just enough hours in her day to care for all of her pets, and it is clear that Pete is not happy with the status quo.

Pete dreams of having a loving human all to himself. Someone who will invite him onto their lap and give him cuddles while he kneads and purrs to show his appreciation. Pete loves to play, but he has not found a playmate in his current home. (He has tried to engage the dogs in play, but they either don’t know what is happening or are just not into playing cat games.

Pete’s foster Mom is dearly hoping to find him a forever home where he will be loved unconditionally and kept safe, happy, and healthy for life. Ideally, he would love a home where he can go outside into a secluded, fenced backyard and do important cat stuff for part of the day.

After dinner, Pete loves to spend time on a warm lap getting endless cuddles while he reminisces about his early days as a kitten, complete with purring and kneading. When it’s time for bed, Pete is keen to sleep at the end of your bed – a fitting end to a perfect day as your fabulous feline companion.

Smokey Pete’s Personality

Petey is a loving cat and he is rather needy in that arena. I have two other cats and neither of them likes him (one of the main reasons I have tried to rehome him), so essentially, he keeps to himself as far as socializing with other cats. He spends much of his time out in my backyard, sometimes he sleeps on my bed at nite and he also sleeps in the morning in the house in a dog bed. My dogs tolerate him, so sometimes he tries to play with them. He is one of those that has a large meow when he wants attention. I do not have him in my lap much because he is a kneader, a big-time kneader. He is like that lonely child that entertains himself and he really SHOULD have better than that! He really is a sweet cat though his manners are not always in alignment with that.

Petey came to me when he was 4 months old, some kids found him and said he would die if I didn’t help! So I did. I am not supposed to have more than 2 pets and I have found myself with 5 of them. I am looking to move out of Arizona and since I do not have a rental lined up, taking along 3 cats will not be an easy feat. I have been threatened with eviction some time ago due to the cats but managed to make it work for now. I really wanted to rehome him with someone that I knew or that a friend knew but have had no luck. Petey deserves to be in a household where he can make a friend. I have no kids at home so I do not know how he does with kids, although he is pretty laid back, isn’t fearful of strangers, and gets along with my dogs fine enough.
