Meet Miller – San Antonio’s Favorite “Cow Cat” Looking for His Forever Couch (Er… Home)

On a freezing Texas night — the kind where even the streetlights seem to shiver — a tiny, black-and-white blur appeared on a front porch mat, curled into a cautious comma. That blur was Miller. Or, as we first knew him, Millie. (More on that in a minute.)

At first, he was just a brave little stray with a bold stare and zero intention of leaving. We set out a shelter with a warm bed and watched through a camera as this dapper “cow cat” claimed it like royalty. Every morning he’d wait patiently for us to water the plants, meowing his approval and trotting alongside us like a pint-sized butler. Even before he was officially “ours,” he was already part of the family.

Eventually, Miller traded porch life for pillow life, coming indoors after some unfortunate mosquito-related drama (turns out he’s very allergic — and not shy about telling you so). And the truth came out: Millie was actually Miller. No hard feelings. He kept the name. He also kept the habit of curling up at the top of your pillow like a cat-shaped hat. It’s his signature move.

Miller is all in on love. He’s the type of cat who follows you from room to room, flopping onto your lap with Olympic-level commitment and snoring through your movie nights like a furry white-noise machine. He’s playful (laser pointers beware), affectionate (he will find your warm laundry pile), and gloriously vocal. If Miller wants a treat, you’ll know — his meow is somewhere between opera singer and espresso machine.

Now, full honesty here: Miller needs to be the one and only cat in your life. He wants to be your cat, not a cat. In a home with other feline residents, he’s a bit like a dramatic soap opera villain — all hisses and stares. It’s not his fault. He just knows what he wants, and it’s your undivided adoration.

Rehoming him is gut-wrenching for us. He’s a sweetheart, but our older cats are overwhelmed, and they deserve peace just as much as Miller deserves joy. This isn’t about blame. It’s about finding his place — a place where he can nap on laps, yell at squirrels from a sunny window, and never, ever worry about mosquito bites again.

So, what do you say?

Do you have a quiet home, a squishy couch, and a heart big enough for a clingy, chatty, lovable cow-cat who thinks you’re the sun and moon? Are you okay being stared at while brushing your teeth, cooking pasta, or trying to read in peace? Perfect. Miller is ready to be your shadow, your sidekick, your sleepy little soulmate.

Miller’s Personality

Miller is a sweet, energetic, and playful cat.

Miller’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Miller’s favorite toys are small mice and balls that he can bat around the room. He also loves the laser pointer. He doesn’t really like strings or wands—he seems afraid of them.
We currently feed Miller Hill’s Science Diet Perfect Weight dry cat food. He likes Greenies and H-E-B brand filled cat treats, and also enjoys an occasional squeezable cat treat if he’s been extra good or is returning from the vet.

Miller’s favorite activities include playing with his toys, lying on his cat bed in the window next to my desk while I work, and curling up in our lap while we watch a movie or at the top of our pillow while we sleep.

Cute Miller Story:

The first time we saw Miller, it was a rare, freezing night in San Antonio, and I saw a tiny cat curled up on the mat of our front porch. He looked scared and cold, so I set out a small shelter on the porch for him to go inside. He continued to come around, and I set up the cat shelter in our backyard with a warming bed and a camera and watched him curl up in there during the winter.

We thought Miller was a girl for the longest time because we couldn’t get very close to him, so we named him Millie. The more comfortable he became around us, the closer we were able to get, until one day, I was able to pet him and see him up close. Spoiler alert – Millie was actually not a girl and was thereafter referred to as Miller.

We continued taking care of Miller outside through Spring, and once Summer arrived, he was getting bitten by mosquitoes. We came to find out he is hypersensitive to mosquitoes, and his nose and ears broke out in a rash. We took him to the vet, got him on a steroid, and brought him inside to live with us.

Why is Miller Being Rehomed?

It breaks our hearts to rehome him, but we have an elder cat who can’t keep up with him, and our other cats are afraid of him, so we’re looking out for their best interests. Our other cats are always hiding and are afraid to come out to use the litter box or drink water in fear of Miller attacking them. We have separated Miller on one side of the house on some occasions, and we’ve noticed their demeanor improves significantly.

Miller’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

He thrives in a calm home where he doesn’t have to compete with other cats to be the alpha. He has a big heart and so much love to give, and he’s at his best when he’s snuggled up next to his human or chasing after toys.

We’re looking for a family that is willing to spend time playing with him, cuddling him, and understanding his need to be the only cat in the house. We also want him to go to a family who will keep him inside only. Since he is allergic to mosquitoes, it’s in his best interest to never live outside again. My husband and I don’t have children, but I do imagine he would be great around kids since he’s so sweet and playful with people.
