Meet Abigail, Russian Blue Mix Cat ADOPTED in Bremen Maine

Abigail is a Female Russian Blue mix cat ADOPTED to a very loving home in or near Bremen, Maine. This very special Cat is 5-6 years old  and weighs 14.5 pounds. Abigail is in very good health, spayed and up to date on her shots.

To say that Abigail is an exquisite little feline is truly an understatement. This gorgeous green-eyed Russian Blue mix has a personality as sweet as she is beautiful. So well behaved and quiet, Abigail will make an amazing companion for a retired cat lover who is looking for an easy-to-care-for pet that has plenty of love and companionship to offer.

Abigail loves to spend her time in sunny windows, watching the birds, insects and other small creatures outside. She is strictly an indoor cat, and is content to be so. It has been said that Abigail likes watching soap operas, too, but her current owners are not so inclined.

The owners are a senior couple who will be moving to a home where cats are not allowed. They love her dearly, and are hoping to find her forever home with a single or couple of cat lovers who will cherish Abigail and keep her safe, happy and healthy for the rest of her life. Abigail will bring a wealth of supplies and equipment with her to her new home – all you need to add is love and a safe, quiet, happy and healthy home with lots of sunny windows.

If you have room in your heart and home for this sweet little Russian Blue  mix cat, please offer to adopt Abigail today.

Abigail’s Personality

Abigail is a quiet, easy going cat who rarely lets out so much as a tiny meow — the latter when she gets overly excited watching a squirrel play in the yard. She’s always lived inside and likes it that way, but she enjoys watching what goes on outdoors. She’s easy to care for and requires little attention, but she loves having someone who takes an interest in her. She has great intuition and will bond with her owner and grew attune to her needs: one former diabetic owner says Abigail would alert her when it was time for her insulin injection. She’s also sensitive to what is permitted in the world of cat and human interaction and will learn and obey household rules, such as where it’s okay to walk or take naps.

Abigail’s Current Home Environment

Abigail has lived in a 1200 square foot house with a retired couple and their one other cat for the past two years. The cats tolerate one another but are not the best of friends, and it seems she would prefer a one cat household, as she grows more relaxed and loving when the other cat is not around. We have an automatic kitty litter box kept in the basement. She’s never had a problem not doing potty business anywhere other than in this box. We are happy to give the kitty litter auto changer to Abigail’s new owners should they want to make their cat caring a bit simpler. The automatic kitty litter changer and the fact that Abigail only requires a modest diet of dry kitty food truly makes caring for Abigail a breeze.

Abigail’s Current Family:

We are a quiet, retired couple with one other indoor cat. There are no other animals in our household. We’ve lived with Abby in two separate locations for the past two years, after adopting her from an animal shelter. We have kept Abigail current with all her required veterinarian visits, and she is in good health. We’d love to keep her, but we recently purchased a winter home, and it is impracticable for us to move her back in forth or leave her for extended periods under the care of someone else. Thus, we now are trying to find new homes for both of our cats. We love them and will miss them when they are gone, but knowing they are in another caring household will make this change much easier for us.

Abigail’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Abigail’s favorite activities are watching birds and squirrels out the window, sleeping in the sun or in front of the fireplace and indulging in her favorite treat — a cat “greenie” (which is a type of dry cat treat sold at most pet stores. She regularly makes use of her cat scratching posts and never scratches the furniture — but her new owners should make sure scratching pads are available. She is naturally lazy and sleeps most of the time, but when her owners go out, she often waits near the door for their return and will give them a loving greeting. Also, she will occasionally get a burst of energy and go tearing about the house chasing a toy mouse

Cute Abigail Story:

We don’t watch television but were told by Abigail’s prior owner that she enjoys watching soap operas. Adding truth to this tail, Abigail spent much time during her early days in our household staring at the disconnected television screen in our house; thus, we pulled out a DVD — not a soap opera — and allowed her some screen time before slowing taking off the tube. She might readily fall back into this old habit with the right new owner should she be looking for a television viewing partner. Also, Abigail is a naturally quiet at and rarely makes a sound, so she sometimes surprises us with her enthusiasm when she begins making little meow noises while watching an overly energetic bird or squirrel playing outdoors. Her occasional bursts of energy also come as a funny surprise when seemingly out of nowhere she begins chasing a toy around the house.

Why is Abigail Being Rehomed?

We’re moving and cannot take Abigail along with us.

Abigail’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Abigail would thrive in a relatively quiet household with no other pets or small children. She’d be the perfect companion for a cat loving single adult or couple.
