Adorable Brown Tabby Cat For Adoption by Owner Ottawa ON

Meet Ernie, Tabby Cat For Adoption in Kanata (Ottawa) Ontario

Ernie is a gorgeous brown tabby cat for adoption in Ottawa ON. This sweet boy is just 3 years old and very healthy. He has been fixed, is up to date on his shots and is playful, cuddly and very cute. He has amazing markings that remind you of a Savannah cat. His personality is fun and affectionate. He can always put a smile on your face.

Ernie is being rehomed by his owner. He is not getting along with other cats in the home, and this is causing stress for the owners daughter, who is recovering from Cancer and lives with her parents.

Ernie is such a great little guy. He would make a wonderful companion for a single cat lover, a couple or a family with respectful children. His only requirements are lots of love and a safe, happy and healthy home where there are no other cats.

Ernie will be rehomed with any supplies his owner has on hand for him. He will also bring his veterinary records.

If you have been searching for a very special cat to adopt in the Ottawa area, be sure to offer Ernie a loving, forever home. He can’t wait to purr and play his way into your heart.

Ernie’s Current Home Environment

The home environment used to be quiet and calm. My daughter has moved in with her two children 11 and 9. She has also brought an older cat of her own and ERnie does not like him because he is spraying where this cat goes. The children are loud – but they are respectful of the cat yet he is afraid of them. He avoids them. We have a 12 year old Labradoodle who is sick so not very active. He doesn’t bother the cat and the cat in turn stays clear of him. They keep their respectful distances. Our house is very big so they each have their own space, although Ernie wants to monopolize it all.

Ernie’s Current Family:

There is my husband and I who are 71 yrs old, my daughter 40 (who is recovering from breast cancer and has moved in with us) and her children 9 and 11. We all love animals. We have a 12 yr old dog who is not at all healthy but he is being monitored by the vet and is comfortable. We lost his buddy in February to cancer after 12 years and he misses him. I have a female cat whom I rescued after she was driven 35 miles on the highway inside the bumper of an SUV without the driver knowing. This when she was only 5 weeks old – and when she ended up in my driveway we removed the bumper to find the cat and she has been with me for 8 years. She is very timid but makes herself at home upstairs — she wont go near Ernie and attacks at him when he scratches the door to get in my master bedroom. He has anxiety about this cat, and we tried everything to calm him down – but have stopped short of putting him on veterinary controlled medication..

Ernie’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

He likes to go from window to window watching the birds. Loves playing with balls. Likes Seafood pate. Stays indoors.

Cute Ernie Story:

Why is Ernie Being Rehomed?

He suffers from anxiety and has not socialized with my other cat nor the new cat in the household. Since the new cat is my grandchildren’s cat, I do not have the heart to ask them to rehome it – he is also a lot older cat than Ernie and might not be easily rehomed. I need to de-stress the environment for my daughter’s sake since she is still recovering from treatments for breast cancer and needs a stress-free environment.

Ernie’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Ernie needs someone who will love him unconditionally and pay him a lot of attention. He would probably be better with an older female than a male, and definitely with no other animals in the household – especially cats. He would probably tolerate children – but once again I believe he needs a single owner household. He would do ok in an apartment or condo because he has never been an outdoor cat.

Additional Comments:

I hope that he can be rehomed on an urgent basis. The stress in my household is getting to the point where I am suffering from high blood pressure myself.
