Looking for a Bullboxer dog for adoption in Port Edwards, WI? Champ would love to be considered for the position of your cherished family companion.

Champ’s Story – Your Couch, His Kingdom, and a Whole Lot of Love

Let’s just get this out of the way — Champ is a love bug in a linebacker’s body. At 80 pounds of solid muscle and loyalty, this 6.5-year-old Bullboxer (that’s American Pit Bull Terrier meets Boxer) may look tough, but beneath the brawn is a heart made of soft blankets, slow snuggles, and soulful stares. He is goofy, he is loyal, and he takes the job of loving his people very, very seriously.

Champ doesn’t just like cuddling — it’s his favorite thing. If you’re laid up with the flu, recovering from surgery, or just need a good cry after a long day, this boy will press himself against you like a weighted blanket with a heartbeat.

He’s funny, affectionate, and just the right amount of dramatic when the zoomies hit. He’s also smart and crate trained — though he’s not shy about voicing his opinion when he’s in there (we call it “crate karaoke”).

His current family adores him, but with two young children — including a new baby — and the changes that come with growing a household, Champ is becoming overwhelmed. Protective by nature, he’s shown signs of stress that have made it clear he needs a more peaceful home with fewer triggers and more one-on-one time.

This is a deeply loving, proactive decision to give Champ the life he deserves — one with calm structure, predictable routines, and a whole lot of affection.

Champ thrives with people who understand him. He doesn’t do well with other animals and prefers to be the one and only furry resident of the home. He’ll reward you with endless devotion, a built-in home security system (just try sneaking past him with a doorbell!), and the kind of companionship that fills a house with heart. He’s done well with toddlers, but a home with older children or teens would likely be the best match.

Champ loves meat (like, really loves meat), cozying up on the furniture, and being part of whatever you’re doing — whether that’s taking a walk, binge-watching a show, or just napping side-by-side. He’s ready to be someone’s best friend, protector, and most loyal companion.

Could your home be the one where Champ finally gets to exhale and just be loved? If so, visit https://pet-net.net/adopt/ to apply. Questions? Reach out to us at petrehomingnetwork@gmail.com — we’d love to hear from you.

This beautiful boy is waiting for his next chapter. And he’s hoping it starts with you.

Champ prefers to be the only pet in the home, which may stem from experiences in his first home. While he hasn’t had any incidents under his current family’s care, they’ve been mindful to give him space from other animals, as he tends to bark when he sees them. Champ is also naturally alert and will react to doorbells and unexpected noises — he sees it as his job to keep his family safe.

There was one instance where a friend entered the home unexpectedly, and Champ nipped in surprise. Typically, his family crates him during arrivals to keep things calm and predictable, and this was a rare moment when someone walked in unannounced. Champ is crate trained, though he sometimes expresses himself vocally while inside — especially if there’s a lot going on around him.

Champ’s Personality

Champ is a snuggly, loving dog. He has a lot of energy but can also slow down to hang out on the couch. He loves to be around people.

Champ’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

Champ loves any type of meat

Cute Champ Story:

After my gallbladder surgery, I laid on my bed, sore and tired. Champ gently climbed up beside me, curled against my side, and rested his head on my chest. He didn’t move, just stayed close, as if he knew I needed him. In that quiet moment, his warmth and love brought me more comfort than anything else could.

Why is Champ Being Rehomed?

Champ is a very loyal dog and protective of his people. He’s been a great dog, but as our family grows, he tends to get a little too protective of me while I’m pregnant. While he’s been great with our son over the past two years, now that we just had our daughter we are trying to prevent any accidents from happening.

Champ’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

We would love to see champ go to a loving home with people who can give him the exercise he needs and attention he needs. While he has done well with our toddler, we’d love to see him go to a home with older kids if they have any. He would do well in a home where there isn’t too much interaction with other animals, and one where he would be allowed on the furniture! We do spoil him that way here with us.

We love this dog very much and it’s with very heavy hearts that we have to give him up. We can only hope he finds a loving home to live in for many years to come. We’d love to keep in touch with the family if at all possible to know how he’s doing!
