Great Dane – Saint Bernard mixes don’t come along all that often. Maggie is a prime example of the best of both breeds.  Beyond the fact that she is large and going to be a wonderful family dog, most people probably would not know what to expect.   Both breeds are noted for their size and their marvelous devotion to family life.  Maggie is still young, but you can see in her face the most beautiful , sympathetic eyes.  Exercise and a yard to play in are going to be important.  If you love walks, you’ll never feel lonely walking Maggie. She loves getting out and discovering the world.  Prepare to be noticed, as she is a big beautiful “diva” of the walking trails!  Kids and adults  and dogs of all sizes can tell that this 5 month old puppy has a wonderful personality and shines brightly as she walks by.   She loves her time at doggie daycare and will run up to the gate every time.  At home, she loves to climb up on your bed in the mornings – she won’t push you out of bed, but if you are slow getting up, Maggie will be happy to stretch out with you until you are ready to face the day.   You can already tell, that despite her love of walks and playtime, she is going to be a great pal for those couch potato days when she gets a little older.

She isn’t a big barker and is very appreciative of any time that you can share with her.  A ride in the car? She loves those!   Ready to toss her a new chew-bone or stuffed toy?  She’ll love you for it and devote all of her time to showing it off.   And best of all, every meal time, she’ll do a happy dance that will have your heart melting! If there was ever a dog that loves life, it is Maggie!  She has her own crate,  for those times that you just need her to stay out of the way for awhile.
She loves kids, though given her size and puppy clumsiness, kids should be well past their toddler years.  She may well accidentally knock down a smaller child, or pull too hard on a toy.  Stuffed toys can also be an issue if your child still has them around.  Puppies are notorious for mixing up dog toys and kid toys.

So this amazing dog could really add a lot to your life if you are comfortable with having a giant puppy who will love to move in and follow you everywhere!

Maggie is being placed for adoption by owner because of  the owner’s health issue that makes being active with Maggie a tough thing to do. Pain flare-ups can lead to skipping an outing or heading home early when Maggie is still enjoying her walk.  Fibromyalgia is the condition and is chronic, so it was decided to try to find this beautiful bundle of joy a better situation where she can get more playtime and exercise.  Maggie should have another year of puppy-level energy and the owner wants her to make the most of that time. If a new home can be found where there is regularly one or two people around to walk, jog, toll a ball, or lay by your feet watching TV,  then Maggie’s move will be a very happy one!
