English Bulldog Dog ADOPTED in Valley Glen, CA

Looking for a English Bulldog Dog to adopt in Valley Glen, (Los Angeles) California? Just 4 years old and weighing 45 pounds, Vinnie is quite the dog. This absolute character has been fixed, fully vaccinated, micro-chipped, house-broken, crate-trained and leash trained.

Vinnie has a very interesting personality. He is gregarious and funny, affectionate and devoted. He loves attention and gives wonderful hugs. He likes meeting new people, going for walks, on road trips in the car, and hanging around his favorite person.

Vinnie would be the perfect dog were it not for his anxiety. Basically, he’s an emotional eater with an insatiable appetite for food. He is on a prescription medication for this anxiety, which has helped a lot. Vinny does not like other dogs, skateboards, bikes, tricycles, and pretty much anything that rolls and makes noise. He’s the “Skateboarding Bulldog’s alter-ego.

Although he is great with his owners young daughter and her friends, his anxiety makes him unsuitable to a home with kids under 10 years old.

It’s easy to overlook these things when you meet Vinny. He’s more like a cartoon character than a real dog. He’ll make you laugh every day. He could be a star, were someone to set up an Instagram page for him!

Vinnie’s owners are very sad to have to rehome their cherished dog. They feel that he needs to be in a home with owners who can give him more time and attention, and work on his anxiety. They are hoping to find a new home for Vinnie where he will be cherished and kept safe, happy, and healthy for life.

Vinnie – English Bulldog Dog ADOPTED in Valley Glen CA

Vinnie’s Personality

The challenging parts of Vinnie:
He does need to be on his prescribed doggie Prozac. He does not like anything on wheels, for example: Bikes, Skate Boards, Strollers, etc. He absolutely does not get along with other dogs!
Vinnie has always been great with my daughter and her friends, however because of his anxiety issues I never completely trusted him alone with them…but to be honest I don’t think any larger dog should be left along with kids.

The wonder parts of Vinnie:
He loves to go on walks, and he walks well on a leash. He loves to go on car rides, to be petted, and to cuddle! and his favorite is to give hugs!
He is potty trained, and he sleeps in a crate at night, mainly b/c he really likes it!

He really is a wonderful dog, and the only reason I am looking to put him up ADOPTED is b/c I think there is a better owner for him.

Why is Vinnie Being Rehomed?

Two years ago I adopted a 2 year old English bulldog (Vinnie) from a women whose boyfriend bought him for her…they got Vinnie from a breeder. The women traveled too much and could not keep him, she said she had him for three weeks only.

Before I adopted him I did my best to ask all the right questions on his behavior and if he was good with kids and other dogs (at the time I had a English bulldog, but sadly passed away 1.5 years ago)…all of which I was told he was great.

For the past two years I have put Vinnie though dog training, and recently it was recommended that he goes on doggy Prozac for his anxiety issues, which he is now on.

Vinnie has anxiety, but never aggressive towards people, more of a constant passing, and a insatiable need for food, but no food aggression that I am aware of.  Since he has been on the doggie prozac I do see slow down in his anxiety.

This past weekend I was suppose to go out of town for one night, I found a women who was recommended to me for overnight dog sitting at her house, after dropping Vinnie off I got a call 5 minutes later that Vinnie had lunged for her dog, however the women used her foot to stop him, and ultimately Vinnie bit her foot…sadly this incident is the reason why I need to surrender Vinnie. I knew Vinnie was not good with small dogs, and I was completely transparent with this women about that, including giving her a run down on his anxieties, but I would never imagine he would bite a larger dog.

Yesterday my husband and I talked at length, and we decided that Vinnie really would be better suited with a single person or couple that does not have any kids and especially other dogs.

It saddens me greatly that I need to surrender Vinnie! He is a hilarious, goofy, sweet dog! But the issues he does have are too hard for my family and I to handle.
