5 Amazing Things About Roo:

1. Roo is the smartest animal I’ve ever met. I speak to her in conversational English and she fully understands. She is incredibly obedient in the best way.
2. She is an absolutely beautiful dog; the mix of all 3 of those breeds is a dream. You’d think that would result in a lot of energy, but she is truly just slightly curious.
3. She is on and off leash trained; she actually does a lot better off leash
4. She loves belly rubs and cuddles but only for the perfect amount of time; she’s not pushy or needy. She waits very patiently for things
5. I love this dog with all my heart and I’m sad that my new situation won’t allow for me to continue to be her owner

Roo’s owners are very sad to have to rehome their cherished dog, but circumstances beyond their control have made rehoming a must-do.

Roo’s Personality

Trained her myself; smartest dog I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with

Roo’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

She loves playing tug of war or fetch; I have a rope toy she loves. She also loves going to the park and playing fetch with a tennis ball

Roo loves all kinds of foods, especially if you are eating it. She won’t beg, but she’ll kind of creep up on you just in case you decide to share with her. She truly just wants to have a little bit of what you’re having

On walks, she has to get her “sniffs” out. She will smell lots of different things for the first few minutes of a walk, and then once she gets her fill, she will smell things here or there

She also loves hanging out with the “ladies;” she particularly likes the company of women. Just to “gossip”

Cute Roo Story:

There are endless amounts of stories with her. She is so empathetic. She knows when something is wrong and will very easily place her head on you as to say, “I’m here if you need me.”

She is an absolute goofball. She gets very excited to when I come home from work or if she knows we are going on a walk.

Best of all, she loves cuddling in the morning. Given my current situation, she’s been sleeping at the foot of my bed, but in the mornings if I give her permission, she’ll come up and roll over on her back right under my arm and get lots of belly rubs and pets.

Why is Roo Being Rehomed?

2 main reasons:

1) I travel a lot for work. This past year I’ve been lucky enough to live with some great roommates who have helped me take care of her. Unfortunately these situations are changing. My work is becoming more travel-heavy and I won’t be around nearly as frequently as I was able to pull off this year.

2) I’m moving and will only be in Austin for another year or so. I’ve already moved around a lot with Roo and she deserves a steady home with space to play and a family that will give her the absolute best life, because she truly deserves it. I know everyone would say that about their dog, but I truly think Roo trumps every other dog out there. She is the kindest, gentlest, smartest thing you’ve ever seen and even all the stuff I’ve been able to do with her and for her isn’t enough. She deserves the absolute best.

Roo’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Ideally, the adoptive family will be someone(s) who are able to do activities with her and have space. Even if it in an apartment, having trails nearby for walks or a field to play fetch would be great for her. Also, people who enjoy being outside and will take her hiking or things of that nature (I’ve done that a few times with her and she loves it).

These people should be silly and playful, just like Roo is. They should also be “leaders” of the pack to an extent. Roo is very submissive and listens to authority very well. Because of this, she often knows when she has done something wrong (very infrequently). All I ask is that you don’t abuse that power over her. She is brilliant and understands if you tell her that a behavior of hers was wrong. No need for yelling or any sort of physical anything ever.

She tons great with children and other animals! She will be submissive with other dogs, so if your current dog (if you own one), is particularly dominant and not necessarily super friendly, I don’t know if it would be a good fit.

They should be ready to accept this girl with the biggest open arms in the world and know that they are getting the greatest dog to walk this planet.

I would like to stay in touch just for a little while. Nothing more than you care to share. A few updates here or there knowing that she is doing ok and is adjusting well.

If my above gawking hasn’t been enough, I’d like to just iterate one more time how special this dog is. I’ve had other amazing dogs in the past. Roo surpasses any dog I’ve ever met. She is so well behaved and always has been. If she does step out of line, she knows and you don’t have to try hard to correct the behavior. She is beyond the sweetest thing ever. Everyone that has also ever met her loves her. She is so calm and so chill, but still very young and has energy when it is appropriate. But never too much or too little. She is just right. She is perfect. I’m truly saddened that I no longer get to be her owner, but I know whoever comes next in line will love her just as much, if not more than I do!
