Meet Ripple – Pre-Loved German Shepherd dog For Adoption by Owner in Franklin TN

If love had a face, it might just look like Ripple’s — bright eyes that read your soul, ears that catch every whispered secret, and a heart that beats only for her people. She’s a 3-year-old German Shepherd with the beauty of a show dog, the brains of a scholar, and just enough sass to keep you smiling.

Ripple isn’t just “a dog.” She’s the loyal shadow who will follow you from room to room, the silent confidant who knows when you need a nudge of her nose, and the steadfast friend who makes you feel like you’re the only person in the world who matters.

Ripple came into her family’s life like a dream — a meticulously trained, purebred Shepherd delivered straight from a top breeder who had known her since puppyhood. She was meant to be a beloved companion to their older Shepherd and a gentle guardian for their three young children. And she was all of that and more.

When their toddler wraps his arms around her neck or dresses her up with toys, Ripple just sits there, regal and patient, her tail quietly thumping. She’s that dog — the one you trust with your heart and your kids.

But sometimes, even the happiest love stories take an unexpected turn. Life shifted for Ripple’s family — a move to a smaller suburban home, jobs that require more travel, and the loss of the big yard and working space she thrived on.

It’s not about love; there’s still plenty of that. It’s about fairness to Ripple. She’s a working-line German Shepherd who wants a purpose, space to stretch her legs, and an active human to match her drive. Keeping her without being able to give her what she needs wouldn’t be right — so with tears and courage, they’re letting her go to find her next chapter.

Ripple is no troublemaker. She’s crate-trained, housebroken, and polite with other dogs. She’ll run at the park, but mostly she enjoys the wind in her fur and the freedom to explore. She’s happiest when praised, thrives on structure, and loves car rides, walks, and the occasional Greenie (her eyes light up at the sound of the bag).

Now she’s looking for a kindred spirit — someone who understands Shepherds and will cherish the way she leans into your leg for comfort, the way her eyes lock on yours as if memorizing your face, the way she quietly settles at your feet after a day of adventure. If you give her your time and your heart, she’ll give you something rarer — a loyalty so deep it feels like home.

Ripple’s bags are packed (yes, including her crate, medical records, and a six-month supply of flea, tick, and heartworm meds). She’s ready to meet her forever person. Maybe that’s you. Maybe you’ve been waiting for each other without even knowing it.

If you can picture her head resting in your lap at the end of the day, click that application button. Ripple is ready to be someone’s once-in-a-lifetime dog.

Ripple’s Personality

She is extremely driven and highly obedient. She is very loyal and highly motivated by our praise and love. She is active and gets along with other dogs, but when brought to the dog park, she mostly has fun running around on her own.

We have three children, and she is tolerant of the children. She took time to warm up when first coming to our home, but once she did, she was very sweet and trained.

Ripple’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?

She likes Greenies, Whole Paws foods, going for walks, car rides, and to the dog park. She can also hang around the house quietly.

Cute Ripple Story:

She is very close to our three-year-old son. He can hug her and put his toys all over her without her reacting. She is also very sweet with my husband and I, and intuitive to our feelings.

Why is Ripple Being Rehomed?

We’ve been proud owners of purebred German Shepherds from I-Guard International / K9 Country Club in Spokane, WA for many years. Our first shepherd joined our family in 2013 and was an incredible companion.

As he began to age, we decided to bring another Shepherd into our home — this time a female — both to be his companion and to ensure we had another beloved Shepherd before his time with us came to an end.

In 2024, we purchased Ripple from the same breeder. She came with over two years of professional training, is fully service dog certified, and has complete I-Guard breeding paperwork.

We invested $11,000 plus travel costs for the breeder to personally deliver her to our home. Ripple is highly trained, very well-behaved, beautiful, and in excellent health. She weighs about 60 pounds, is affectionate, loyal, and eager to please.

Since we welcomed her, our older Shepherd has passed away, and our family has relocated to a smaller rental home in a suburban area. With three young children and jobs that require frequent travel, we are no longer able to provide Ripple with the space, exercise, and working purpose she thrives on. Our housing situation also now restricts larger breed dogs.

Ripple would do best in a home that understands the needs of working-line German Shepherds — ideally with space to run, a job or active role to keep her engaged, and an owner who can give her the attention and structure she loves.

She truly is a remarkable dog, and we are committed to finding her the right home where she will be as loved and fulfilled as she has been with us.

Ripple’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:

Ideally, with space to run, a job or active role to keep her engaged, and an owner who can give her the attention and structure she loves.

I think that’s it! She has been a great dog and while we love her, we hope that she can find a home that better suits her needs.
