Toby is a devoted pet. Loves to be by your side or at your feet. He cuddles in bed. He is a joy and I am very sad that I feel I have to give him up.
The neighbors in my development just love him. Many have said they would take him, but the problem with that is the closeness and no one here has a large lot, which is what Toby needs to run and get exercise.

Toby’s Personality
Toby is fast becoming the very best family dog he can be. He loves to retrieve soccer balls or basically anything that is thrown, Toby has added his own flair to this age old game between dog and man, and turned it into “Fetch and then Chase Me Around the Yard Trying to Get the Ball Back”. It’s a joy to watch him leap and run with glee, ball in mouth. It’s like he has a “thought bubble” over his head that reads “You can’t catch me, I’m the Muffin Man!”
Like all Golden Retrievers, Toby also loves to play in water and, unlike some Goldens, he also enjoys the “post-mud-bath” shower and shampoo.
Toby’s a traveling dog and does not mind riding in the car one bit. He loves to see what’s out in the world, and has gone on many excursions with his Mom to doggie play dates and other adventures. Toby is simply a wonderful, well behaved, healthy, affectionate and extremely cute older Golden Retriever puppy.
Toby’s Favorite Toys, Foods, Activities?
Toby loves his stuffies and will joyously carry them around in his mouth, offering them to visitors and playing with them, without destroying them, as some dogs do.
Toby is also a fan of rocks, and has a favorite river rock that his owner has allowed him to play with. He will sometimes carry that around in his mouth, as well.
I feed him The Farmers puppy, beef seems to work best with his digestive system. His activities are going to my daughters house to romp with her goldens and play ball in their back yard. It was my hope that she would take him, but she has an infant and two dogs and can’t add to that at this time.
Cute Toby Story:
I got Toby at the urging of my mother and daughter. They felt I needed a companion. He is a good companion, but I feel guilty not having an adequate space for him to run and play. We can only take short walks in the neighborhood due to a lack of space for that as well. I feel Toby will be best suited in a family with children with at least an acre or even on a farm.
Why is Toby Being Rehomed?
Stated a couple of times already. I don’t have the space for Toby to truly be happy. My kids are grown and I live alone. Much of the time Toby seems bored because there is no where for him to run and play. I also wish for him to have interaction with kids that would love a best friend.
Toby’s Perfect Adoptive Home Will Be:
Preferably a family – young kids that will latch onto Toby like a best friend.
Land – Toby needs at least an acre or more (fenced) to run. If there is more land, as long as he knows his limits and doesn’t stray away that would be fine. I would feel much better however if the property were fenced.
A periodic photo would be nice just to know how he is doing. This is a difficult thing for me to do so I would like to know that he is happy in his new home.
